As a devoted dog mom, finding the perfect food for my pups, especially Kuki with her renal needs and notoriously picky palate, has always been a journey. After countless attempts with different kibbles and toppers, I finally dove into making homemade fresh food, and honestly, it’s been one of the best decisions for their health and my peace of mind. It’s so rewarding to know exactly what goes into their bowls, ditching the mystery ingredients and fillers. My go-to renal-friendly recipe starts with a base of wholesome ingredients. For the protein, I opt for lean ground chicken or even chicken breast, which is gentle on their systems. Then, I load it up with dog-safe vegetables like zucchini, sweet potato, carrots, cabbage, and cauliflower. These aren't just for bulk; they provide essential vitamins and fiber.
