Update on Makai 💚

Makai is still fighting stage 5 kidney failure, and he actually has dialysis today. We’re hopeful that by the end of the year, he can finally get his kidney.

On a brighter note, I’m glad to be back in Wisconsin believe it or not, I’ve been on this earth all these years and never been to a Packers game at Lambeau Field. My boys got to experience it at a young age, and I’m truly grateful to the Lord for that. 🙏

Oh yeah… I owe Makai $1 because he bet the Packers would lose and they did. 😂 I guess I should’ve bought him New York Jets gear instead!

If anybody wants to become an organ donor for my son, the link is in the comments. #Kidney4Makai

Dialysis is a vital treatment that helps sustain life by performing the kidney's essential functions, but it is only a temporary solution until a transplant can be secured. For families like Makai’s, every day presents new challenges, from managing medical appointments to balancing hope with uncertainty. Organ donation is a life-saving gift that many patients with kidney failure await. Becoming an organ donor can dramatically improve the quality and length of life for those on transplant waiting lists. It’s important to raise awareness about the registration process and encourage more people to sign up. Many countries maintain online registries and provide clear guidance on becoming donors. In the midst of health battles, moments of normalcy and happiness are invaluable. Attending a Packers game at Lambeau Field offers a sense of community, fun, and cherished family memories. Such experiences remind us to appreciate life’s small joys despite difficult circumstances. Sports, family bonding, and shared laughter bring emotional relief and strengthen relations. Supporting Makai means more than just medical treatment; it involves rallying a community around him through online campaigns like #Kidney4Makai. Sharing his story, educating others about organ donation, and encouraging participation in donor registration can make a critical difference. We can all be part of creating hope and positive change for those coping with kidney failure.
