We were seated in a timely manner, which is always a great start. The vibe was welcoming with a nice mix of Black and white patrons-which in my experience usually means the food is seasoned right. And it was.
To start, we ordered the Brussels sprouts ($12) as an appetizer. They were crispy, well-seasoned, and had a nice little kick-definitely a solid 8/10.
I had the shrimp and grits with a sunny-side-up egg on top. The grits were thick but seasoned well, and the egg actually brought the dish together in a way that surprised me (I normally don't even like sunny-side-up eggs). I'd give this a strong 9/10.
