Throw back to Halloween as Miss Doubtfire

Okay, so Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday, and every year I try to outdo myself with a creative costume. A few years ago, I decided to tackle a truly iconic character: Mrs. Doubtfire! When it arrived, it instantly made me feel like I was stepping into her shoes (or rather, her sensible, comfortable heels!). Next, the glasses. I raided a few thrift stores and finally found a pair of slightly oversized, gold-rimmed spectacles that perfectly completed the 'stern but loving nanny' look. They had that vintage feel that was spot on. For the main outfit, I aimed for a conservative, yet classic, floral dress. I wanted something that looked comfortable, a bit dated, and utterly Mrs. Doubtfire. I layered it with a simple cardigan in a complementary color and even found some support stockings to really commit to the character! And of course, a sturdy, practical handbag was essential to carry all my nanny essentials. Putting it all together was a process, but oh so rewarding! When I finally looked in the mirror, wig, glasses, pearls, and all, I couldn't stop laughing. I felt like a completely different person, and the transformation was incredible. The best part of the night? The reactions! Everyone instantly recognized who I was, and I spent the evening practicing her accent and famous lines. It was a total hit at the party, and I had so much fun interacting with people in character.
