Christmas Traditions To Save For Later 🎄🤶🏽🎅🏽
Is Christmas anyone else’s favorite time of the year? I always get excited because I finally get to have my own family traditions with my family. From matching pajamas to watching Christmas movies, baking cookies, and visiting the Christmas lights, I absolutely love it. #familychristmas #holidaymoments #ideasforchristmas
Beyond the matching pajamas and Christmas movie marathons, there are so many little traditions that truly make the holiday season magical for my family. I wanted to share a few more of our personal favorites that really bring the 'celebration' into 'holidays and celebrations'! One thing we absolutely love is our cozy Christmas Eve ritual. Imagine this: a warm mug of hot chocolate, overflowing with marshmallows and a gingerbread cookie on the side, just like the one I saw with 'meet me under the mistletoe' on it. We gather by the fireplace, the tree lights twinkling, and we open our special Christmas Eve Box. If you haven't started this tradition, it's a game-changer! Ours is a lovely wooden box, sometimes like the 'Maxwell's Christmas Eve Box' I saw, filled with new festive pajamas, a Christmas-themed book (this year, maybe 'A Reindeer's Dream' or something similar!), and a little treat. It builds so much anticipation for the next morning. Speaking of books, we also have a Christmas book countdown. Each day in December, we unwrap a new festive story. It's a wonderful way to wind down in the evenings, reading classics like '12 Days of Christmas' or 'The Nutcracker,' or even fun ones like 'That's not my reindeer.' It creates such precious moments and gets everyone excited for Santa's arrival. And oh, the magic of Christmas morning! We love waking up to discover those enchanting white Santa footprints leading from the fireplace to the tree. It’s such a simple touch but brings so much wonder to the kids' eyes, making them truly believe Santa was there. We always make sure our personalized stockings – each embroidered with names like Penelope, Ailana, Travis, Reign, and Alabama – are hanging by the fireplace, ready to be filled with small treasures. It’s such a joy to see them discover what's inside. Another tradition that brings so much laughter is our annual gingerbread house competition! We set up a long table with a red and white striped cloth, piles of gingerbread pieces, colorful candies, and icing bags. Everyone gets to design their own unique gingerbread house – it's chaotic, sticky, but absolutely hilarious and a fantastic way to unleash creativity. It’s not about who wins, but the fun of creating something together and making those sweet, lasting holiday memories. These are the moments that truly define our family's celebrations and make Christmas the most wonderful time of the year for us.
