Stop Rushing To Get Ready!

Hey ladies, hey!

The feeling of allowing yourself enough time to create a vibe, where you feel good to be going out is a form of self intimacy. Rushing to get ready and out the door was my usual routine. Not going to lie, I still have rushing moments 😂. But I’ve also learned that when I do rush, I create this anxious energy before I even get to my destination. Anxiety is hard to shake once it’s high. So why not be intentional about how we want to feel, dress and be perceived in a calm energy going out into the world!

Instead of a frantic scramble, I start by setting a gentle intention for my day or night — whether it’s feeling confident, relaxed, or vibrant. This mindset acts like a personal hug, creating a shield against the usual stress. It helps to have a little routine that you enjoy, something that connects you with yourself. For me, it’s playing a favorite song or lighting a scented candle while getting dressed. These small rituals cultivate what I now understand as "self intimacy," a comforting space where you honor your needs and feelings. Also, I've noticed that when I rush, it’s not just about time but about the energy I bring into the world. That anxious energy often follows me through social settings, making it harder to fully relax and enjoy the moment. By slowing down, I replace anxiety with calm confidence, a change that others often notice positively. If you find yourself frequently rushing, try shifting your perspective. Instead of seeing getting ready as a task, view it as a chance to connect with yourself and set the tone for your day. Experiment with timing, environment, and even outfit choices that make you feel empowered. You might be surprised how much this simple shift can affect your mood and interactions. Remember, self intimacy isn’t selfish—it's a valuable practice that nurtures your mental well-being and enhances your presence. So next time you're preparing to go out, give yourself permission to slow down and enjoy the process. It’s not just about the destination but how beautifully you arrive there.
