perfect fall outfit 🤎

So I had a huge obsession with butter yellow in the summer time! It was one of my favorite trends as the color pairs really nicely with other neutrals in my wardrobe. It was a smooth transition to pair with my other favorite pieces like these brown trousers from Madewell that I wear on repeat every fall season.

I promise you don’t need to spend a lot to have cute fits. This v neck butter yellow top I thrifted last year and it is 100% cashmere! You just need to have patience when thrifting and one of my favorite things to do before I shop anywhere is to take a look at my Pinterest board and see what exactly I am on the hunt for. This cashmere sweater costed me $10 which is a steal because cashmere runs for $60+ regularly!

... Read moreIf you're anything like me, you're always on the hunt for those perfect fall outfits that feel both chic and comfortable. And let me tell you, I've stumbled upon a color combination that's become my go-to: butter yellow and chocolate brown. It’s a match made in heaven for autumn, offering warmth and sophistication without being too bold. The beauty of a butter yellow V-neck sweater, much like my amazing thrifted cashmere find, lies in its ability to brighten and soften darker tones. When you pair it with classic dark brown trousers, you create an instantly harmonious and earthy palette. It’s less stark than a black and white combo, giving off a much cozier, more inviting vibe that truly embodies the fall season. Speaking of my $10 cashmere sweater, thrifting has truly revolutionized my wardrobe. My biggest piece of advice for finding similar gems? Always go with a clear idea of what you're looking for, almost like having a Pinterest board in your head, as I often do! And never skip checking the fabric tags. You'd be absolutely amazed at the high-quality items – cashmere, silk, wool – waiting to be discovered for a fraction of their original price. Don't be afraid to try on different sizes either; sometimes an oversized find can be perfectly styled or even altered for a custom fit. I always prioritize classic pieces that can easily integrate into my existing wardrobe, much like these versatile Madewell brown pleated trousers that are a repeat offender in my fall rotations. These brown trousers are truly a workhorse in my closet! While they look absolutely stunning with a butter yellow top, their versatility is incredible. I often pair them with a crisp white tee and a denim jacket for a casual weekend look, or with a cream silk blouse for a more elevated, office-appropriate ensemble. For footwear, my comfortable Madewell brown flats are a constant companion, but a pair of stylish ankle boots or even some classic loafers would also look fantastic. Adding a simple brown belt instantly pulls the entire outfit together, creating a more polished silhouette. Accessories are the cherry on top for completing any outfit. For this particular butter yellow and brown ensemble, a brown shoulder bag, like the Charles & Keith one I love, is perfect. It seamlessly ties in with the trousers and maintains a cohesive, elegant color scheme. Little touches like gold hardware on the bag or delicate gold jewelry can add a subtle touch of warmth and sophistication without overpowering the soft yellow and rich brown tones of the main outfit. And don't limit yourself to just butter yellow! Other warm yellow shades, such as a soft mustard or even a deeper ochre, would also look incredibly stylish with brown. If you want to introduce another neutral, consider layering with a cream or beige coat, or even a patterned scarf that incorporates these earthy hues. The goal is to build a cohesive, effortlessly chic fall wardrobe around these versatile pieces. Trust me, once you start experimenting with this palette, you'll wonder why you didn't sooner!
