College Advice from a Junior!📚💻🏡

College is meant to be fun! If you have any questions, please ask in the comments I’d be so happy to answer them!! ❤️‍🔥

🍹Go out and have a good time, but get your assignments done first.

💸Apply for scholarships! All of them!!

☕️Stop wasting money on Starbucks every day. Make it more of a treat instead of a habit.

🏡As an RA, please listen to your RA. We’re not out to get you, we just want you safe and informed.

🏛️Join a sorority or fraternity! You get so much leadership experience, volunteer hours, and friends, even if you’re paying a little bit.

🥂Count your drinks and educate yourself on B.A.C. No one likes the blacked out person at a function, and you could be putting yourself in danger.

🏋🏼‍♀️ Find a way of exercising that you enjoy, and do it 2-4 times a week. You’ll immediately get all those happy releases in your brain, and could even do better in classes!

... Read moreCollege can be both exciting and challenging, and finding the right balance is essential for your success. One of the most important pieces of advice is to always attend your classes. This simple practice ensures that you stay engaged with the material and make the most of your education. Furthermore, taking control of your finances is crucial, so think twice before spending on daily coffee runs—saving those dollars can add up to significant savings over the semester. Don't underestimate the value of joining extracurricular activities, such as Greek life; these opportunities enrich your college experience tremendously. You accumulate volunteer hours, develop leadership skills, and build lifelong friendships. Remember, however, to prioritize your academic responsibilities and avoid excessive partying. Staying informed about your alcohol intake and knowing your limits is key to making safe choices during social events. Additionally, utilizing campus resources, like scholarships and mental health services, can ease financial burdens and provide support throughout your college journey. Regular physical activity is also beneficial; find a form of exercise you enjoy and aim for 2-4 sessions a week. This will contribute to your overall well-being and can even enhance your academic performance. In summary, embrace the college experience safely and wisely by focusing on academics, managing finances, and staying active.
