Hungry College Students….

🐟 First time whipping up some salmon burgers and without a recipe – and they turned out AMAZING! 🍔 Here’s how I did it:

Ingredients:

Salmon, mayo, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, chopped white onion, green onion, bell pepper, fresh parsley, fresh basil, breadcrumbs, eggs, olive oil, Gouda smoked cheese, lettuce, Chick-fil-A sauce, Parmesan cheese, Old Bay seasoning.

Steps:

1️⃣ Mix chopped ingredients and seasonings with mayo, eggs, and breadcrumbs until well combined.

2️⃣ Combine seasoned mixture with pre-cooked, chopped salmon.

3️⃣ Shape into patties and cook in olive oil until golden brown.

4️⃣ Optional: top with Gouda smoked cheese while cooking for extra flavor.

5️⃣ Serve on buns with lettuce, Chick-fil-A sauce, Parmesan cheese, and a sprinkle of Old Bay seasoning for a burst of flavor.

Pro tip: Cover the pan while cooking for perfectly juicy burgers, and don’t forget to add a little oil around the cover for extra steam! 🌟 Who’s ready to dig in?

... Read moreYou know that feeling, right? That 'hungry hungry' feeling that hits especially hard when you're a college student juggling classes, studying, and a tight budget. It's so easy to just grab takeout, but lately, I've been loving the challenge of creating delicious, satisfying meals right in my own kitchen. That's exactly how my journey into making these salmon burgers began! I stumbled upon some salmon at a good price, and instead of my usual baked salmon, I thought, 'Why not try something new and make it into a burger?' And let me tell you, when I say 'My FIRST Salmon Burgers,' I truly mean it! I was a bit nervous, but the result was so much better than I expected. It was such a win for a hungry me! Living on a student budget often means getting creative in the kitchen. My biggest tip for battling those 'hungry' moments without breaking the bank is to always have a few versatile ingredients on hand. For example, eggs, canned beans, pasta, and frozen veggies are lifesavers. You can whip up so many different meals with just these basics. And for proteins, ground meat or fish like salmon (especially when on sale!) can be transformed into so many exciting dishes, just like these burgers. Beyond just the ingredients, it's about making cooking approachable. I used to think cooking from scratch was super complicated, but I've learned that simple, fresh ingredients often yield the best results. These salmon burgers are a perfect example – you chop, mix, shape, and cook! It’s really that straightforward. Plus, the satisfaction of making something delicious yourself is just unbeatable. It’s a great way to unwind after a long day of classes, too. If you're often finding yourself hungry and looking for a quick, healthy fix, don't be afraid to experiment. Maybe next time you're at the grocery store, pick up some ground chicken or turkey and try making patties. Or if fish isn't your thing, black bean burgers are another fantastic, budget-friendly option. The key is to think about what flavors you love and how you can combine them simply. For me, adding fresh herbs and a little cheese elevates anything. And that Chick-fil-A sauce? Total game-changer for these burgers, just a little personal touch that makes them extra special. So, if you're a fellow college student (or just someone who gets 'hungry hungry'!) looking for practical, tasty meal ideas, give these salmon burgers a try. They're proof that you don't need a gourmet kitchen or a fancy recipe to create something truly delicious and nourishing. Happy cooking, and may your belly always be full!
