Things to know when visiting Memphis!
You may have heard a thing or two about Memphis , Tn! We have a lot of great historical places here and awesome food but I’m going to be blunt…. That’s about it. If you’re wanting to come tour and taste then this might be the perfect spot for you! A few of our staples are (one that no one misses) our big giant Pyramid that is now a bass pro shop, Beale Street, The Arcade restaurant, Ernestine and hazels, Sun Studios, Graceland (which if you ask any Memphis if they’ve been more than likely you’ll get the answer “nope”) , FedEx 😅, Memphis Bridge, Lafayettes, Young Ave deli, Molly Fontaines, St. Jude, railgarten and many more. If you plan on visiting here there’s no hesitation about how dangerous this city is, so please be extra aware of your surroundings and where you park or walk. I’d say this is not the best kid friendly place although we do have the CMOM (children’s museum) and an amazing zoo. Other than those two things we really don’t have much entertainment for children! Memphis is a great place to drive through for a day, but definitely not for a long visit. (Not trying to be a negative Nancy, just trying to be more realistic)
Note: There are MANY great BBQ places in this city, but some of my favorites are Corkys, Central BBQ, One and Only, Rendezvous, and many more (this is not in any particular order so don’t come at me 😅😂) (also note, Memphians are very serious about who has the best BBQ)

If you're traveling with children, while the options may seem limited, the Memphis Zoo and the Children's Museum of Memphis offer enjoyable experiences for families. For a unique outing, check out a Memphis Grizzlies basketball game for some local sports action. Safety is an important consideration; be aware of your surroundings and stay in well-populated areas, especially after dark. Aim to explore during the day to safely enjoy all that Memphis has to offer without undue concern. With its blend of history, culture, and stunning flavors, Memphis can be a delightful quick getaway!
