📍Chicago Restaurant Review
Come with me to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Chicago, Manchamanteles. My friend introduced it to me a few months ago, and I’ve been obsessed ever since! When you sit down, the first order of business is ordering a margarita. I get a skinny, spicy, mezcal marg and it is 👩🍳 💋. Next, you should order the flautas de pollo. These are basically elevated taquitos, and they are delicious. For your main course, please please PLEASE order the dobladas de pollo negras. Think marinated pulled chicken, inside a folded tortilla, smothered in mole, and finished off with melted cheese. I think about this dish multiple times a day. It’s seriously one of my favorite meals in Chicago. If you are craving something sweet, finish off your meal with a tamal chocolate. The best way to describe this is lava cake taking the form of a tomale. Highly recommend. Try Manchamanteles for your next meal, and let me know where I should go next 🍽️ Manchamanteles #chicagorestaurant #chicagomexicanfood #chicagofoodreview #chicagofoodguide #lemon8foodguide
Located in the heart of Chicago, Manchamanteles serves authentic Mexican cuisine that tantalizes the taste buds. Renowned for its flavorful mole made with a blend of chiles, fruits, nuts, and spices, each dish is carefully crafted by Chef Geno Bahena. Popular small dishes include Queso Fundido, featuring melted Chihuahua and Oaxaca cheese paired with heirloom corn tortillas—perfect for sharing at your next meal. The Flautas de Pollo, reminiscent of elevated taquitos, offer a crisp delight, while the Dobladas de Pollo Negras stands out as a must-try main course. This dish features marinated pulled chicken enveloped in a folded tortilla, generously smothered in rich mole sauce, topped with mouthwatering melted cheese. For dessert, indulge in the Tamal Chocolate, a unique take on a classic lava cake that’ll leave you craving more. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Manchamanteles is the ideal spot for a vibrant dining experience that captures the essence of Mexican flavors.
