Seeing the "WELCOME TO QUITAQUE" sign made me smile – another friendly small town ready to be explored. From there, it was a short drive into the breathtaking Caprock Canyon State Park. This place is an absolute must-see! The red rock formations are stunning, and the hiking trails offer incredible views. But the absolute highlight, for me, was encountering the majestic Texas State Bison Herd up close. Seeing these magnificent creatures grazing peacefully in their natural habitat was an unforgettable experience. It's a powerful reminder of the wild beauty that still exists in West Texas. My advice? If you're looking for an authentic Texas experience, a day trip to this region, focusing on Turkey, TX and its surrounding natural wonders, is an absolute must.
