Trying the new alani
I am a Alani lover, but this drink was not it. It tasted like it just didn’t have enough flavoring. Mostly water with a hint of cherry coke. Definetly the biggest disappointment Alani has had so far.
Okay, so you know how much I usually rave about Alani Nu. Their flavors are usually spot on, vibrant, and give you that perfect pick-me-up. That's why I was absolutely buzzing with excitement when I heard about their new cherry coke flavor. My hopes were sky-high, picturing that iconic cherry soda taste perfectly blended with Alani's signature energy kick. I even loved the look of the can – that sleek dark red energy drink can with the cute hearts and stars, so festive and appealing! You know, the kind you spot in the fridge and just have to try. So I grabbed one, ready for my new favorite post-gym or afternoon slump buster. But, oh my goodness. From the very first sip, I knew this wasn't going to be it. It was such a massive disappointment, honestly. My initial thought was, 'Did I get a bad can, or is this just... water?' because it tasted so incredibly diluted. Imagine taking a classic cherry coke and watering it down by about 75%, then adding a faint, almost artificial, energy drink aftertaste. That's exactly what this Alani flavor was like. There was just a faint whisper of cherry and even less of that deep cola flavor. It completely lacked the boldness, the sweetness, and the satisfying fizz I’ve come to expect from Alani. It felt like they forgot to add the main ingredients entirely! I've tried so many Alani flavors over the years, from the refreshing Hawaiian Shaved Ice to the tangy Witches Brew, and even the more unique ones like Cosmic Stardust. They've all delivered consistent quality and flavor profiles. Even their seasonal releases, like the Valentine Alani or the Bronco flavor, usually hit the mark with unique and strong profiles that become instant favorites. This 'new flavor' just didn't live up to the hype or the brand's usual standard. I know some people often wonder, 'is Alani a Coke product?' and while they're not directly affiliated, sometimes their flavors aim for that soda-like experience, which usually works really well. But this time, it just tasted like a poor imitation of a cherry soda, not a vibrant energy drink. It truly makes me wonder what went wrong with this specific batch or recipe. Was it intended to be this subtle? For me, it was a definite -10/10, as those sick face emojis on my quick social media post probably showed – my hand holding that can with the overlay says it all. If you're on the hunt for a strong, satisfying cherry coke energy drink, I honestly can't recommend this Alani one. You'd be better off sticking to a classic cherry coke or exploring other brands that offer a more robust cola or cherry energy drink experience. I’m usually the first to tell everyone to try a new Alani, especially when it’s a 'new flavor,' but for this one, I’d strongly advise you to save your money and your taste buds. My search for the perfect soda-inspired energy drink continues, but this one will definitely not be making it into my regular rotation. Let me know if you’ve tried it and what you thought – maybe it’s just me, but I really doubt it!
