Things to do in Istanbul part 1 ✨
There’s so many amazing things you can do while in Istanbul! Sharing my all time favorites and recommendations which obviously include the touristy kinds 😆😆 I wanna go back! #travel #fyp #istanbul
Istanbul truly captured my heart, and there are just so many incredible things to do that I had to share my absolute favorites! This city is a vibrant blend of history, culture, and delicious food, making every corner an adventure. If you're planning a trip, get ready to be amazed! One of the first places on my list, and truly a must-see, was the majestic Hagia Sophia. Standing there, you can feel centuries of history come alive. It's just breathtaking, with its grand domes and intricate mosaics. I spent hours just marveling at the architecture, imagining all the stories these walls could tell. Whether you're interested in its past as a church or a mosque, its sheer beauty is undeniable. Don't forget to look up at the soaring ceilings – it's truly a spiritual and awe-inspiring experience. After soaking in so much history, a perfect way to unwind was to relax at Sultanahmet Park. It’s right between Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, making it an ideal spot to take a breather. The park is beautifully landscaped with fountains, vibrant flowers, and plenty of benches. I loved just sitting there, enjoying a cup of Turkish tea, and people-watching. It’s such a peaceful oasis amidst the city's hustle and bustle – perfect for recharging before your next adventure. The atmosphere is just so serene. And you absolutely cannot visit Istanbul without trying the famous Turkish ice cream! My personal experience with 'dondurma' was delightful and hilarious. The vendors are known for their playful tricks, making it an experience in itself as they stretch and twirl the ice cream before handing it over. It's incredibly thick, chewy, and surprisingly resistant to melting, thanks to ingredients like salep. I tried the plain mastic flavor, and it was so unique and refreshing. It's not just a treat; it's an interactive cultural experience you'll remember! Beyond these iconic spots, I also highly recommend getting lost in the Grand Bazaar or the Spice Bazaar. The sights, sounds, and smells are incredible, and it's a fantastic place to pick up unique souvenirs or spices. Bargaining is part of the fun! And for foodies, Istanbul is a paradise. From street food like simit and balik ekmek (fish sandwich) to exquisite Turkish delights and strong Turkish coffee, every meal is an adventure. Don't be afraid to try everything – your taste buds will thank you! Another unforgettable experience was taking a Bosphorus cruise. Seeing the city from the water, with both European and Asian sides stretching out, is truly magical. You pass by historic palaces, mosques, and charming waterfront houses. It offers a totally different perspective and is especially beautiful at sunset. For art lovers, there are numerous museums, and for those who enjoy a bit of pampering, a traditional Turkish bath (hammam) is an absolute must-try. It's an ancient ritual that leaves you feeling incredibly refreshed and rejuvenated. Each activity adds another layer to Istanbul's rich tapestry, making every moment there truly special.
