10 Things I Love About My Self

2024/5/9 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! I wanted to share something truly impactful that has changed how I view myself. There was a time when I found it hard to pinpoint even a few things I genuinely loved about myself. Sound familiar? We often focus on our flaws, don’t we? But after seeing a simple journaling prompt, I decided to dedicate some time to creating my own '10 Things I Love About Myself' list. And honestly, it was incredibly eye-opening. It started with a simple spiral notebook and some colorful pens, just like you might see in a cozy journaling session. The idea wasn't to list superficial things, but to dig deeper. The prompt was to think about 'natural things' – intrinsic qualities, strengths, and unique aspects of my personality that make me, me. This wasn't about vanity; it was about acknowledging my inherent worth. One of the first things that came to mind was my creativity. It's not just about art; it's how I approach problems, how I find innovative solutions, or even how I express myself through writing or decorating my space. Recognizing this felt powerful. Then, I thought about my heart – my capacity for empathy, kindness, and how I genuinely care for the people around me. It’s a core part of who I am, and it felt good to acknowledge that inner warmth. My uniqueness also made the list. In a world that often pushes us to conform, realizing and celebrating what makes me different, my quirks, and my individual perspective, has been incredibly liberating. It’s about owning my authentic self. Wisdom, too, came to mind. Not necessarily academic brilliance, but the insights gained from life experiences, the lessons learned from mistakes, and the ability to offer thoughtful advice. And of course, loyalty – to my friends, my family, and my own values. Knowing I stand by those I care about and what I believe in gives me a strong sense of integrity. Beyond these, I encouraged myself to consider other 'natural things.' Things like my resilience in bouncing back from challenges, my sense of humor that lightens tough situations, my curiosity about the world, or even my determination to see things through. It’s amazing how many positive attributes we possess once we start looking for them! If you're finding it a bit daunting to come up with your own 10, here are a few more journaling prompts that might help spark some ideas: What's a compliment someone has given you that truly resonated, and why? Think about a time you felt truly proud of yourself. What quality did you demonstrate? What activities make you lose track of time? What does that say about your natural passions? How do you comfort a friend in need? What unique emotional support do you offer? What's one small, everyday thing you do that brings a smile to someone else's face, or even your own? This exercise isn't just a one-off task. I often revisit my list, adding new insights or reminding myself of the strengths I already possess. It's a continuous journey of self-discovery and appreciation. Having that handwritten reminder in my notebook, seeing the different colored inks I used, makes it feel even more personal and real. Give it a try – you might be surprised by how much you find to love about yourself and how much it boosts your overall well-being!

Things I Started Doing For Myself✨
Honestly, I used to put everyone else first and wonder why I felt so drained. Once I started protecting my peace, setting boundaries, and giving myself the same love I gave others, everything shifted. 💗 If you’ve been pouring from an empty cup, this is your reminder to start showing up for YOU. ✨

I got my braces put on Tuesday morning! 1. Your mouth is EXTREMELY wet sometimes. I catch myself drooling or with my mouth open randomly. They did not tell me this 😀 2. Over the counter medicine is a LIFE SAVER!!! I use extra strength tylenol ( 500mg per pill ) and it works wonders!!!
