📚 Better Than Steel Princess… But I’m Taking a Break

I finally finished Twisted Kingdom and ended up giving it ⭐⭐⭐⭐.

I definitely liked this one more than Steel Princess. I was more invested in the story, and I loved finally getting answers to a lot of the questions from the first two books. That said, I still think parts of the book dragged, and honestly, I felt the same way about the last book.

Because of that, I think I’m going to take a break from the Royal Elite series. Not because I need something lighter—I just don’t want to force myself through more books and end up in a reading slump. Sometimes it’s better to step away and come back later.

What truly stood out in Twisted Kingdom was the deepening emotional intensity between Elsa and Aiden as they confront their pasts and scars. The themes of trauma, healing, and secrets keep the narrative compelling, though certain pacing issues mean some chapters can feel dragged out. This is something I noticed too, and it reminded me that sometimes, taking a break from an ongoing series can refresh one's reading appetite. If you enjoy stories with strong, obsessive heroes and dramatic relationship stakes, Royal Elite delivers, but beware of potential slow moments. I found that the vivid dialogue and compelling quotes—like "You're not my weakness, Elsa. You're my kingdom."—helped keep my interest alive. For readers considering whether to continue or pause, it’s worthwhile to reflect on your current reading mood. Continuing immediately might lead to burnout, but waiting and returning later can deepen your appreciation.
