As a first time mom these are symptoms that I had that nobody told me about…
-morning / all day sickness
-motion sickness
-cramping in my stomach and hips
-back pain
-can’t breathe
-only eat fruits and salads
-hematoma tear
-excess discharge
-brown discharge after sex
-headaches
-high emotions
Some of these symptoms are common but some are not and nobody told me about the uncomfortable feeling you have in your stomach and excess discharge that makes you feel like you will always have your period.
This is a beautiful time and over the course of the weeks you start to get use to the feeling of having a little person grow inside of you that it becomes second nature.
My baby is highly active already so it’s wonderful to see the ultrasounds and my baby moving like crazy.
It gets something to get used to but I love every minute of it

While some symptoms like morning sickness and fatigue are widely recognized, many women experience additional signs that are less commonly discussed, such as hematoma tears, excess vaginal discharge, and brown discharge after sex. These symptoms occur as the body adapts hormonally and physically to pregnancy.
Excess vaginal discharge is typical in early pregnancy due to increased blood flow and hormonal changes, though it can be uncomfortable and often mistaken for period-like symptoms. It's important to monitor discharge for any signs of infection or significant changes that require medical attention. Similarly, some women experience minor bleeding or spotting, especially after intercourse, which can be alarming but is often harmless unless accompanied by pain or heaviness.
Cramping in the abdomen and hips during the first trimester is usually caused by the uterus expanding to make room for the growing embryo. This can feel similar to menstrual cramps but should be evaluated if severe or persistent. Back pain and difficulty breathing can also arise as the body adjusts to increased blood volume and postural changes.
Emotional fluctuations, including heightened sensitivity and mood swings, are common due to fluctuating hormone levels. These can be managed with rest, support from loved ones, and stress-reduction techniques.
Understanding these symptoms helps expectant mothers feel more prepared and reassured during this delicate stage. Ultrasound scans provide incredible comfort as they visually confirm the baby's growth and movement, strengthening the emotional bond.
Consulting healthcare providers regularly is essential to ensure a healthy pregnancy, especially if any unusual or concerning symptoms develop. Embracing the first trimester with awareness allows moms-to-be to better appreciate the miraculous process of creating new life.
