Athena- She’s my big girl (pure Blue nose pit bull) She’s a total sweety and will give you as many kisses as you will let her give you. Shes also the first to sit and act like a human and also try to sit in your lap haha
Sasha- She’s our little old lady (blue nose pit/mix) and loves adventures and hikes! She did our famous 20 mile hike and loved every minute of it through the mountains. ⛰️ she’s the nanny dog for sure!
Quinn- He’s our dude for sure!! In every aspect he is the ditzy one. (In the best way) definitely don’t do flips by him he will knock you over mid-flip! He will play just about anything and run circles around you like it’s nothing! Energy energy energy!!
Last but not least our newest addition-
Luna 🐈⬛- She loves the dark and small spaces, ribbons, anything that makes noise, and FEATHERS on anything!!!! Hahaha she hates being picked up but allows it for certain people! Total snuggle bug and such a sweet heart! Gets her feelings hurt if you forget her teacup with milk in the morning! ☕️ #pets#petsoflemon8#puppies#cat#puppies💕💕❤️

... Read moreHaving a multi-pet household like mine is truly a unique and heartwarming experience! While Athena, Sasha, Quinn, and Luna all bring so much love, it definitely comes with its own set of adventures and learning curves. If you’re thinking about adding more furry friends to your family, or just wondering how we make it work, I wanted to share a few things I've learned that might help.
First off, introducing a new pet, especially when you have dogs and cats, needs a lot of patience. When Luna, my cat, first joined our pack, we made sure she had plenty of safe, high-up spaces and quiet spots to retreat to – she still loves her dark corners! We slowly introduced scents before letting them meet face-to-face, always supervised. It took time, but now they mostly tolerate each other, and sometimes even share a sunbeam! Creating designated 'safe zones' for each pet, especially for a shy cat like Luna, has been a game-changer. This ensures they always have a place where they can feel completely secure and undisturbed.
Managing different personalities is also key. Quinn, with his endless energy, needs plenty of playtime and long walks to burn off steam. We often use durable toys like a KONG to keep him mentally stimulated and engaged, especially when I can't be actively playing with him. These types of enrichment toys are fantastic for burning mental energy, which is just as important as physical exercise for a high-energy dog. Sasha, being an adventurous soul, thrives on new experiences like hikes, so we make sure to plan those regularly. Athena, my sweet lap dog, is happy with lots of cuddles and short, gentle strolls. And for Luna, it's all about feather toys and quiet snuggles on her terms. Understanding what each pet truly needs helps prevent conflicts and keeps everyone happy.
Another big one is ensuring everyone gets individual attention. It’s easy for one pet to get more focus, but I try to have dedicated cuddle time, play sessions, or training moments with each of them. It strengthens our bond and makes them feel loved and secure. Training can also be individualized; for example, I might work on basic obedience with Quinn, while Sasha might be learning more advanced tricks on our walks. Meal times also need to be managed carefully to avoid food aggression, especially with pets of different sizes and species. I feed them in separate areas to keep things calm and stress-free.
Pet-proofing your home becomes even more important with multiple animals. Securing cabinets, keeping hazardous items out of reach, and having appropriate scratching posts for cats (Luna loves hers!) are essential. We also invest in good quality beds and water bowls for everyone – sometimes even multiple water stations, especially during warmer months or after a long adventure.
While there are certainly challenges – like coordinating vet visits, managing different dietary needs, or cleaning up after multiple furry friends – the joy and laughter they bring to our home are immeasurable. Each pet has their own unique way of showing affection and contributing to the family dynamic. It’s a lot of work, but seeing them interact and knowing they’re happy and healthy makes every effort worthwhile. It truly is a full house of love, and I wouldn't have it any other way!
