My recent visit to Los Abrigados Resort & Spa in beautiful Sedona truly exceeded expectations, especially for an art enthusiast like myself! Beyond the stunning red rock views, the resort is a living gallery. I spent hours just wandering through the grounds, discovering incredible sculptures at every turn. You absolutely have to carve out time for what I like to call the 'Los Abrigados Art Walk.' It's not just a casual stroll; it's an immersive experience. I was fascinated by the diverse collection, from modern metal sculptures like the captivating female figure with a wheel near the entrance to whimsical, frog-like creatures displayed outside shop windows. The resort does an amazing job of showcasing both contemporary and traditional pieces. One of my favorite finds was the serene bronze statue of a young Native American girl, beautifully integrated into the landscaping. And for something truly unique, keep an eye out for the vibrant mosaic sculpture titled 'She Never Left The Garden' by Gala Kraftsow – the intricate detail with glass and pearls is simply mesmerizing. I also admired the powerful bronze sculpture by Chris Navarro, depicting a cowboy and his horse, which really captures the spirit of the Southwest. Seeing his informational card nearby gave me a deeper appreciation for his work and passion. Don't forget to look up for things like the metal bird sculpture atop a fountain or the large, energetic mural depicting a market scene. Even industrial-looking metal sculptures resembling winged dragons add to the eclectic charm. There's even a charming wooden bear sculpture that surprised me! These pieces transform the space into an open-air museum, adding so much character and a sense of discovery to your stay. Beyond the art, the resort's amenities are top-notch. I highly recommend taking advantage of the spa services. Even if you're not booking a full treatment, the complimentary use of the sauna in both the men's and women's areas is a fantastic perk – perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. I found it incredibly relaxing and a great way to rejuvenate. For dining, you're spoiled for choice with the array of restaurants on-site and within easy walking distance. The local jewelers and art shops mentioned in the main article are indeed a treasure trove. I picked up a few unique souvenirs that I wouldn't have found anywhere else. Just remember, many of these unique spots tend to close around 6:30 PM, so make sure to get an early start to browse. Regarding the Hilton timeshare preview, it's definitely something to consider if you have a spare 1.5 hours and want to earn that $150 voucher for local restaurants. It's a low-pressure way to enjoy a nice meal out on them and learn about potential future travel opportunities. Overall, Los Abrigados Resort & Spa isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience. The blend of luxury, art, and relaxation makes it an ideal base for exploring Sedona. Whether you're an art lover, looking for spa pampering, or just want a beautiful, comfortable place to unwind, this resort truly delivers.
