Reset before the weekend
**How I Reset My Room 🧹🛏️✨**
Here’s how I clean my room in simple steps (not that you don’t know how to clean ):
**🛏️ Step 1: Tackle the Bed**
By the weekend, my bed looks like my closet exploded 😅 I hang clean clothes back up and toss the rest in the hamper. Most of them are clean — just tried on during the week!
**🧺 Step 2: Start Laundry Early**
I begin with bulky items like blankets, then move to darks, brights, and whites. *Pro tip:* Fold laundry *as soon* as it’s dry or it’ll live on your bed till next week 😩
**💍 Step 3: Dresser Declutter**
Yes, the plastic is still on my dresser — it’s meant for my mom’s room 😅 I clear off clutter, return jewelry to the tray, and dust it with my Swiffer. (Ignore the fallen curtain rod and missing clips 🫣)
**🪑 Step 4: Desk (Sorta)**
I *would’ve* cleared my desk here, but I lost that footage… so just imagine it nice and tidy 😭✨
**🧹 Step 5: Clean the Floor**
I remove trash, organize laundry piles, and vacuum. I also move the hamper out to make cleaning easier!
**🌸 Step 6: Add Vibes**
I plug in my favorite Febreze scent and drop essential oils into my air purifier. The room smells cozy, clean, and *delicious.* (You could also get out your candles🕯️ , you know)
📝 *Side note:* Lavender gives me a headache 🥲 so I skip that one!
Resetting your room before the weekend is more than just tidying up — it’s about creating a clean, organized space that promotes relaxation and productivity for the days ahead. The stepwise approach includes focusing on key areas such as the bed, laundry, dresser, desk, floor, and ambiance. Starting with the bed is crucial because it often accumulates clothes, both clean and worn. Sorting these items early prevents clutter from spreading. Laundry should be tackled in priority order: bulky blankets first, then segregate by colors such as darks, brights, and whites. Prompt folding after drying helps avoid laundry pile-up. Decluttering the dresser area, including dusting and returning items like jewelry to designated trays, maintains order and cleanliness. Although sometimes the desk cleaning footage might be missing, envisioning a neat workspace helps reinforce the habit of maintaining a tidy desk area. Cleaning the floor involves trash removal, proper organization of laundry piles, vacuuming, and shifting hampers to facilitate thorough cleaning. The final touch involves enhancing the room’s atmosphere by using air fresheners like Febreze or essential oils in air purifiers, creating a cozy and clean scent environment. Choosing preferred scents while avoiding those that cause discomfort (such as lavender for some) personalizes the space. Incorporating these steps consistently before the weekend not only refreshes your environment physically but can also provide mental clarity and a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, maintaining this routine supports healthier living spaces and develops efficient cleaning habits that save time and reduce weekend stress.
