Taking Out My Hair Rollers

I’m gonna start by saying these are a GREAT alternative to heat in order to get semi straight/wavy hair. That was the main reason I wanted to try them, rather than how others use it to create new hairstyles.

But, I definitely would recommend a few things if you’re doing this for the first time like I did—

1. Make sure your rollers are tight against your scalp but not too tight to the point where it hurts!

2. When stretching your hair onto the roller, make sure your hair is fully brushed out with a BOAR BRUSH

3. Don’t be afraid of using more mousse than you think you should!

4. Lightly oil your hair again after taking the rollers out and before styling

5. You’re gonna have a terrible night of sleep. When I went to bed, I found sleeping with my hands under my head while on my side helped SO MUCH.

6. After taking out the rollers, use a WIDE TOOTH COMB or a BOAR BRUSH instead of an Unbrush like I did

If you guys have any questions, go ahead and ask! I will definitely be trying again and work on styling it better.

... Read moreUsing hair rollers is a fantastic method to achieve beautiful waves or straight hair while avoiding heat damage. When first using hair rollers, ensure you understand the best practices to enhance the process. Start with clean, dry hair and consider applying a styling mousse, as this can help the rollers hold the shape better. It's crucial to roll your hair tightly against your scalp without causing discomfort. Choosing the right brush, like a boar brush, ensures your hair is smooth before rolling, which can significantly affect the outcome. After you're done rolling, let the rollers sit for a while to lock in the style. Once you take them out, use a wide-tooth comb to gently separate the curls or waves. For a finishing touch, a light oil can help add shine and manage frizz. Remember, achieving the perfect hairstyle might take practice, so don't hesitate to try again or experiment with the products you use.

Try using the magnetic rollers next time for wet hair. They have a better setting look also let the hair dry more before removing the rollers. I tend to use the Velcro rollers when curling my hair with flat irons then applying the velcro rollers to let the curl lock in for that nice blowout look.

Brush with wide comb and smaller curlers those first two were way to big for your hair length and definitely go over your head with a dryer before bed so its mostly dry before sleeping
