Denver Spring Matcha Menu 🍵💐

As Drake asked… “how many matchas can you consume in a day?” Apparently… too many 🥵🍵

Here’s my honest Denver matcha ranking (spring menu edition):

1. Velvet Lasso — 3254 Navajo St, Denver

Lights Camera Action — 7/10

Really fun summer drink. I loved the added tanginess of the passion fruit, but if we’re talking best coconut water + matcha combo in Denver, Doppio Coffee’s Matcha Cloud takes the cake (for me).

2. Two Hands — 3985 Tennyson St, Denver

Strawberry Rose Matcha Latte — 4/10

I wanted to love the matcha here because I love their food menu 😭 but the rose in the Strawberry Rose Matcha Latte was a little too heavy handed for me… kind of giving bath bomb. The matcha color was also that dull olive green, which usually tells me it’s either lower quality or oxidized. Not awful, just not one I’d go back for.

3. Homecoming — 3451 Walnut St, Denver (assuming this is the RiNo one)

7/10

Okay don’t come for me PLEASE because it truly pains me to say this. I also know that this spot gets a lot of hype. The matcha itself is a great quality, outperforming most other spots in Denver, but overall (maybe it’s their ratio?) it tasted watered down. The syrups were actually delicious, I just wish there was more because the flavors got lost.

4. Home Away Coffee — 3501 Blake St Unit 106, Denver

8/10

The strawberry syrup tasted super fresh—not artificial at all—and the matcha ratio was solid. Not the highest grade matcha I’ve ever had, but not bad. Overall a great drink.

5. 5 Star Matcha — Denver farmers markets / pop-ups

8.5/10

Thir purées/syrups tasted incredibly fresh & their matcha quality is better than almost anywhere in Denver. My only note is when the lines get crazy, it’s not always quite as smooth as I’d want it, but I get it. Running a stall at Denver’s BUSIEST farmer’s market is no joke and their lines get LONG. If they opened a brick & mortar location, I’d be there constantly.

6. Doppio Coffee — 1245 E Colfax Ave, Denver

10/10

MY PERSONAL FAVE. I genuinely can’t think of a complaint besides wishing they had a location closer to me 😭

7. Nest Cafe at Nurture — 2949 Federal Blvd, Denver

7.5/10

You can tell the matcha quality is pretty good, and the berry syrup tasted like actual berries which I loved. My only complaint is I wanted a stronger matcha presence because it leaned a little watery.

8. Hearth — 2727 Welton St, Denver

6/10

I was a little disappointed because I really wanted to love this one. The matcha version was definitely better than the espresso version, but the cream cheese cold foam was too overpowering. Raspberry was also a little too tart for me personally, wanted it sweeter to balance the bitterness of the matcha or coffee and cream cheese cold foam.

9. Suki Coffee & Matcha — coming soon 👀

10/10

My best friend (Kat) is opening her very own matcha/coffee trailer, but I promise I’m not biased. She loves making matcha, has learnt how to make it properly. Fresh syrups, thoughtful flavors, and is coming out with one of the most unique drink menus. Flavors that enhance the matcha instead of covering it up. My favorite is the jasmine matcha latte. Can’t wait for you guys to try it.

10. Hudson Hill — 619 E 13th Ave, Denver

3/10

Love Hudson Hill as a space. Great vibes, great place to work. But every time I’ve gotten matcha there, it’s basically just milk 😭 ahhh!

11. Paperboy — 2060 W 30th Ave, Denver

3/10

Love their brunch, absolutely would go back for food. But the matcha was not it, grainy & overly milky. 😭

12. Sandoitchi — 1060 Bannock St, Denver (if this is the location you mean)

6/10

Actually decent matcha quality, but way too syrup-heavy for me. It tasted more like a sweet flavored drink than a matcha drink.

... Read moreAs a fellow matcha enthusiast, I love exploring different matcha spots around Denver to find that perfect balance of flavor and quality. One thing I've noticed is that fresh syrups and natural ingredients really make a difference. Places like 5 Star Matcha, offering fresh purées at busy farmer’s markets, often provide matcha with a vibrant, authentic taste that’s hard to beat. It’s also important to consider the quality of the matcha powder itself; seeing that dull olive green color, as mentioned about Two Hands, often indicates older or oxidized matcha, which can harm the flavor. I personally appreciate when matcha drinks highlight the tea flavor without being overpowered by sweeteners or heavy foams. For example, venues like Doppio Coffee masterfully combine coconut water with matcha to create refreshing summer drinks with perfect tanginess. Meanwhile, when drinks get syrup-heavy or too milky, such as at Sandoitchi or Paperboy, the true matcha essence tends to get lost. If you're trying to deepen your appreciation for matcha, I’d suggest paying attention to the color and texture as well. Vibrant green matcha usually signals quality and freshness. Also, trying uncommon pairings like jasmine or passion fruit in matcha lattes can bring a delightful twist without masking the tea’s delicate notes. Keep an eye out for new local spots like Suki Coffee & Matcha, which promises thoughtfully crafted drinks with balanced flavors. Finally, don’t hesitate to share your own rankings and experiences on local forums or social media with tags like #denvermatcha or #bestmatchareview so that the community continues to thrive with honest insights and fresh recommendations.
