Your Space Should Look Like You 🫶

Everything must be beige and white, right? I say this as someone who totally fell into that trap—guilty as charged.

When I moved into this apartment, it was just me, my daughter, and a fresh start after leaving a hard relationship. I had nothing but her little bed, a mattress on the floor, her toys, and a few kitchen basics. No furniture, no decorations—just an empty space and a tired soul trying to remember who she was.

Like so many of us, I looked for comfort in aesthetics. I followed every trend. I tried to become the “it girl.” I wanted to be loved, liked, accepted. So I bought into the look. The beige, the white, the vanilla minimalism. And don’t get me wrong—I still like my home. I love it. It’s calm and peaceful. But somewhere along the way, I realized I was still missing me in it.

I’m sharing this because I know I’m not alone. Sometimes we follow trends not because we love them, but because we’re still finding ourselves again. So if you’re in that space, here’s your gentle nudge: DARE to be different. Buy what lights you up. Choose the colors that speak to you. Even if no one else is doing it.

And hey—if vanilla is you, that’s beautiful too. Don’t decorate in whispers of who you were—speak in the tones of who you are becoming.

Here’s to normal homes. To cozy spaces. To starting over. To making it yours.✨

Often, we find ourselves lost in trends, seeking validation and comfort in aesthetics that don’t represent our true selves. As we navigate through life changes, it's vital to cultivate a home environment that reflects our individual personalities. This journey of self-discovery can begin with small steps. Consider incorporating pieces that tell your story, such as heirlooms, travel souvenirs, or artwork that resonates with your feelings and experiences. Additionally, don’t shy away from bold color choices—these can add vitality to your space and uplifts your spirit. Warm hues can create a cozy atmosphere, while bright tones can energize the environment. Remember, minimalism should not stifle your uniqueness; it can coexist with vibrant expressions of who you are. In a world where conformity often overshadows individuality, dare to create a distinctive haven that celebrates your journey. Whether you connect with the serene vibes of minimalism or prefer a more eclectic style, ensure that every element in your space sings the song of your identity. Start today and let your home be a testament to your story, a space that welcomes every chapter of your life.

How to Declutter Your Space for 2025
Decluttering isn’t just about stuff—it’s about the stories we tell ourselves. The ones that whisper, ‘You’ll need this someday,’ or, ‘This is who you used to be.’ But let me ask you, is that ‘someday’ worth more than the peace you’re craving right now? When you hold onto things that don’t
