FTM✨EBF -what’s your journey?
I was hesitant to breastfeed, I said I would only do formula because I honestly thought BF would be one of the hardest things about motherhood, but once I saw my baby?! I knew this was something I wanted to do. I love it!
I did try formula feeding a few times too, but ended up choosing to EBF💝 #motherhood #momlife #ftm #breastfedbaby #sahm
Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) is widely recommended by health organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) for the first six months of a baby's life due to its numerous health benefits. However, many first-time mothers (FTMs) find themselves hesitant or uncertain about breastfeeding due to common misconceptions or fears about difficulty. Choosing EBF after initial attempts with formula feeding is a journey that reflects both emotional and physical aspects unique to each mother and baby. Breastfeeding offers essential nutrients and antibodies, aiding baby’s immune system development and reducing risks of infections, allergies, and chronic conditions later in life. It also promotes bonding for stay-at-home moms (SAHMs) and working parents alike. Challenges such as latching issues, milk supply concerns, or soreness can often be overcome with support from lactation consultants, support groups, and education. Many mothers join communities under hashtags like #motherhood, #momlife, #breastfedbaby, and #ftm to share experiences and find encouragement. Additionally, the choice between EBF and formula feeding is deeply personal and influenced by lifestyle, health conditions, and emotional readiness. Formula feeding remains a safe and nutritious alternative when breastfeeding is not feasible or desired. Understanding the emotional journey and physical realities can empower new mothers to make informed decisions that best suit their family's needs. The love and connection felt while feeding, whether breastfeeding or formula feeding, enrich a mother’s experience and contribute positively to the well-being of both mother and child.
FTM EFF I did combo feeding in the first month but breast feeding and pumping was too taxing on my mental health.
