Snowy days 🩵

There's something truly magical about waking up to a fresh blanket of snow. It transforms the world into a sparkling wonderland, and for me, it means a day of pure joy with my little snow girl! We just had the most incredible snowy winter day right in our snowy yard, and I wanted to share our experience and some practical tips for making the most of these beautiful moments. Watching my child in pink (her favorite snowsuit, of course!) discover the snow was absolutely heartwarming. As an adult in white, I was right there with her, crawling in the snow and exploring every pristine patch. We were both dressed warmly for the winter weather, which is absolutely key to an enjoyable outing. The car sat patiently in the background as we made snow angels and tried to catch snowflakes on our tongues. These are the precious snowy days memories that truly last a lifetime. For myself, as the adult in white in the pictures, I opted for thermal base layers, a fleece, and a waterproof, windproof jacket and pants. Don't forget scarves or neck gaiters! Ensuring everyone stays dry and warm means more time for fun and fewer shivers. 2. Simple Snow Activities for All Ages: You don't need elaborate plans. Just being out in the snowy yard is an adventure! We love making snow angels, which is always a giggle-fest. My little one enjoys tracking animal footprints (or making our own!). If the snow is packable, building a mini snowman or even just small snowballs for target practice can be a blast. Collecting snow in buckets and using small shovels to make 'snow pies' is another favorite. The key is to let their imagination lead. 3. Safety First, Always: Snowy days can be beautiful, but safety is paramount. We always stay close to home, within sight of our house (and the car for a quick warm-up if needed!). I keep a close eye on her for any signs of being too cold – blue lips, shivering, or fussiness are immediate indicators to head inside. We also take frequent breaks for hot chocolate or warm apple cider to warm up from the inside out. 4. Document the Memories: I try to snap a few photos or quick videos, just like the ones you see. These moments pass so quickly, and having a visual reminder of their pure joy in the winter weather is priceless. Post-Snow Cozy Up: After all the outdoor fun, there's nothing better than coming inside to dry off and warm up.
