You can add as much or little of maple syrup you want
If you're like me and enjoy clean eating but sometimes crave a sweet, refreshing treat, this homemade sorbet recipe is a game changer. What I love about it is how versatile it is—you can customize it based on what you have at home or your taste preferences. For instance, using frozen fruit not only gives a luxurious icy texture but preserves vitamins, making it a nutritious dessert. In my experience, blending on pulse prevents the sorbet from becoming too creamy and more like a traditional sorbet texture. Adding fresh basil leaves brings a wonderful aromatic herbaceous note that pairs beautifully with the natural sweetness of the fruit. The squeeze of fresh lemon juice adds just the right amount of zing and balances the flavors. I always opt for a plant-based liquid like oat milk or almond milk because it makes this recipe vegan and keeps it light. The tiny bit of maple syrup adds just enough natural sweetness without overpowering the dish or adding refined sugars. Topping the sorbet with chia seeds is not just about texture; it also adds a boost of omega-3s and fiber, contributing to a more filling and nourishing dessert. After blending, placing the mixture in the freezer for a short time firms it up to a perfect consistency that’s easy to scoop and enjoy. This method has become my go-to whenever I want a healthier dessert option that feels indulgent but aligns with my clean eating habits. Plus, it’s quick to prepare and satisfies cravings without any guilt. Give this recipe a try and experiment with different fruits or herbs to keep things exciting and fresh!
