Two truths and one lie 👀

... Read moreHey everyone! So, you just played my 'Two Truths and a Lie' challenge, and I hope you had fun trying to guess! This game is seriously one of my favorite icebreakers, whether it's with new friends, colleagues, or even family. It's such a simple yet brilliant way to learn surprising things about people and get some laughs along the way. How to Play (It's Easier Than You Think!) The rules are super straightforward: you come up with three statements about yourself. Two of them must be absolutely true, and one has to be a complete fib. The goal for the other players is to guess which one is the lie! My OCR content mentioned how I felt "I'm not good at lying," but the trick is to make your lie sound just as plausible as your truths. Crafting Your Own Truths and Lies: My Best Tips! For the Truths: Think about things that are genuinely interesting or slightly unusual about your life. Maybe something from your childhood, a unique experience, or a fun fact about your background. For example, like my 'pound baby' story (yes, being born that small was definitely a truth!), or something about your heritage, like me being 'Black and Puerto Rican' but not speaking Spanish. These unexpected details make people pause and think. Don't be afraid to share something that sounds almost too wild to be true – those are often the best truths! For the Lies: This is where the fun really begins! Your lie shouldn't be too obvious, but also not completely out there. It should sound just believable enough to trick people. For instance, my statement 'I'm a twin' sounds pretty plausible, right? It's a common enough thing. Avoid making up something that's easily disproven or clearly ridiculous. The best lies often hover close to the truth, perhaps a slightly altered fact or an event that could have happened. Need More Ideas? Try These Categories! If you're stuck on what to say, here are some categories to spark your creativity for your own two truths and a lie examples: Childhood Memories: "I once dyed my hair green for a school play." "I broke my arm falling out of a tree." Travel Adventures: "I've visited all 50 states." "I got lost in Paris and ended up helping a street performer." Unusual Skills/Hobbies: "I can juggle five balls." "I've won a pie-eating contest." Food & Drink Quirks: "I hate chocolate." "My favorite food is raw broccoli." Family Facts: "I have 10 cousins." "My grandparent invented something famous." (Like my 'I'm a twin' example!) Variations to Keep It Fresh: Two Lies and One Truth: Flip the game around! Make two statements false and one true. This can be even harder to guess and makes for great 2 lies 1 truth icebreaker scenarios! Themed Rounds: Play with specific themes like "Work Life," "Vacations," or "First Dates." This helps generate more specific two truths one lie ideas. Extreme Truth or Dare Questions: While not exactly 'Two Truths and a Lie,' if you want to spice things up, you can incorporate elements. For example, if someone guesses correctly, they get to ask an "extreme truth" question (within reason, of course!), or if they guess wrong, they do a "dare." This adds another layer of engagement! I hope these tips help you become a pro at playing (and winning!) 'Two Truths and a Lie.' It's a fantastic game for breaking the ice and getting to know people on a deeper, fun level.
