Dorm Tour! Pretty in Pink!
Here’s my junior year dorm! Every year I try to switch it up a little bit. This year my vibe was just pink and girly. I have a single room this year so lots more space to decorate!
Transforming your dorm room into a pink paradise doesn't always mean reaching for a paint can, especially in strict dorm environments! When I was planning my junior year setup, I dreamed of vibrant pink walls, but knew painting wasn't an option. So, I got creative! One of my favorite tricks for adding that pop of color is using removable wallpaper or large tapestries. They come in so many gorgeous pink shades and patterns, from soft pastels to bold fuchsias, and they peel right off at the end of the year without any damage. Another fantastic way to infuse pink into your walls, just like I did with my own space, is through posters and art prints. You can create a beautiful gallery wall with various shades of pink, adding personal touches like an SZA poster or even a cool Coraline movie poster if you like a bit of contrast. Don't forget vine garlands – whether they're green or pink, they instantly add a whimsical, cozy feel draped around your bed or window, as you might have noticed in my room tour! Sometimes, just strategically placed fairy lights with a pink glow can totally change the mood of your entire room, giving that 'bedroom wall color' effect without any actual paint. Now, if you're looking to take your pink room to the next level and are a fan of K-Pop, why not consider a Blackpink themed room? The 'pink and girly' vibe I went for naturally lends itself to a Blackpink aesthetic, which often incorporates iconic pink and black elements. Imagine starting with a base of soft pinks, like my pink bedding, and then layering in bold black accents. You can easily incorporate Blackpink into your decor with official merchandise – think album covers framed on your wall, light sticks displayed proudly, or even custom-made pink posters featuring your favorite members. A simple way to blend this theme is by choosing black furniture or storage solutions, like a sleek foldable shelf for your perfume bottles and candles, contrasting beautifully with your pink walls and textiles. You could even find subtle hints like a black desk lamp or black picture frames for your pink art. My vanity area with a lighted mirror could easily be adapted for a Blackpink fan, maybe by adding some black organizers for makeup, brushes, and other essentials. And for those unique touches, a pink metallic balloon animal sculpture on your windowsill adds a fun, modern twist that resonates with their edgy yet playful style. Even practical items like shoe organizers under the bed can be chosen in black to subtly carry the theme throughout. It's all about balancing those two powerful colors to create a chic, fan-inspired space that truly feels like you! To truly personalize it, don't forget the details! My dresser holds a small pink lamp and other decorative items, but you could easily swap these for Blackpink-inspired trinkets or album-themed accessories. Think about lighting too – LED strips that can switch between pink and black light settings would be an epic addition for setting the mood. The key is to blend your personal style with the theme. Whether you're aiming for a soft, whimsical pink haven or a bold, K-Pop inspired space, remember that your dorm is your sanctuary. Have fun with it, just like I did making my junior year room truly 'pretty in pink' and perfectly me!
