You might have seen the original post, and yes, it was "kinda one-sided" – but that's where the fun in fanart truly begins, right? I love exploring those unspoken dynamics between characters, especially when they're as captivating as these two. For me, this piece really captures a moment of connection, a tender handhold that speaks volumes. The inspiration for this artwork really comes from my ongoing love for character relationships, particularly the "sprout x looey" dynamic that some of you might be familiar with from my other works. While Looey isn't explicitly in this frame, my artistic persona often influences the narratives I weave. This piece, in a way, is another exploration within my 'dandysworld' universe, adding to the "looey x sprout fanart" collection by exploring Sprout's interactions with others close to them. It's about how Sprout impacts those around them, and vice versa. Speaking of influences, many of you asked about the vibe! While Sprout isn't a direct character from "Splatoon 'Deep Cut'", I definitely draw a lot of stylistic and energetic inspiration from that universe. The vibrant colors, the dynamic poses, and the unique character designs of Splatoon's Deep Cut members truly spark my creativity. I wanted to infuse this piece with that same lively spirit, making Cosmo and Sprout feel like they could easily exist within a world as rich and expressive as Splatoon's. It's less about a direct crossover and more about channeling that awesome aesthetic into my original characters. Now, let's talk about the details of this specific drawing, especially the "cosmo and sprout holding hands" aspect. This was probably my favorite part to render! When I was sketching, I kept thinking about the scale. Cosmo is depicted as quite huge in my vision, and capturing that gentle yet firm grip, with their hands intertwining, was a delightful challenge. I even remember scribbling notes to myself, like "HANDS ARE HIS, OMG HE'S HUGE!" because I wanted to perfectly convey that sense of protective presence. And for those who asked about the flourishes – yes, I added some subtle, swirling elements! I wanted to give the background a bit of mystical depth, almost like energy radiating from their connection, hence the "HGLOING SWIRLS" that appeared in my initial concepts. It’s those small details that bring the whole scene to life. I’ve also been experimenting with different character forms lately, inspired by the creativity I see in the community, especially things like "berry beast sprout." While this isn't a 'berry beast' version, I love how fan artists reimagine characters, and that definitely influences the unique traits I give my own Sprout!
