Homemade Garlic Bread Recipe
Last night my family made some spaghetti and we were craving some garlic bread, but we didn’t have any. Instead of going out to buy another box we decided to try a recipe online with what we had on hand!
Ingredients
•Bread (we used white bread but other people use other types ex:Hawaiian, Texas toast, or thin baguettes)
•1/3 cup of unsalted butter
•1/2 tsp salt
•3 tsp of garlic powder
•1 tsp of freeze dried parsley
•shredded cheese (optional)
Directions
•Preheat oven to 450
•In a large mixing bowl add in your butter, salt, garlic powder, and freeze dried parsley
• Put a layer of nonstick baking spray or a layer of tinfoil on a baking sheet
•Spread a even coat on both sides of the bread (six slices)
• Place your slices of bread on your baking sheet and place in the oven
•After three minutes in the oven take your pieces out to flip them over using tongs or fork
• Spread the bread with your shredded cheese and place back into the oven for an additional three minutes
•Our family chose to split these bread pieces in half but some may choose to leave them whole slices
•Best served after given time to cool to harden for a crunchy bite

Hey foodies! So, you've tried my family's super simple garlic bread recipe, right? But let's take it a step further and really dive into how to make yours absolutely legendary. I've had my share of garlic bread experiments, and these tips are things I've learned along the way to truly elevate that humble loaf into something spectacular. First off, let's talk about the bread itself. While everyday white bread works perfectly fine, and we often use it for convenience, the type of bread can totally change your experience! For that classic, restaurant-style garlic bread, a crusty baguette or a sturdy loaf like ciabatta or sourdough is a game-changer. These breads have a wonderful chew and a porous interior that really soaks up all that delicious melted butter and garlicky herb goodness. Texas toast, as mentioned in the original recipe, is fantastic for a thick, soft-on-the-inside, crispy-on-the-outside bite. If you're using a crustier loaf, I recommend slicing it lengthwise or into thick individual slices, then generously slathering both sides with your butter mixture. This ensures maximum flavor absorption and helps achieve that beautiful golden-brown crust. Now, about that amazing *garlic butter*. My recipe uses garlic powder for ease, and it's fantastic for a quick fix. But if you want to kick the flavor up a notch, try adding a clove or two of freshly minced garlic to your butter mixture! Just remember that fresh garlic can burn quicker, so keep an eye on it in the oven. And don't stop at parsley for your *green herbs*! While freeze-dried parsley provides that classic fresh touch without the fuss, I sometimes mix in a pinch of dried oregano, basil, or even a tiny bit of rosemary for an extra layer of aroma. The key is to melt your butter just enough so it's spreadable but not watery, allowing it to cling perfectly to the bread. This rich, buttery garlic spread isn't just for bread; it's also amazing on grilled corn or even tossed with roasted vegetables – a true kitchen hero! Want that picture-perfect golden-brown finish the OCR image captured, and a gloriously crunchy texture? Preheat your oven properly and don't be afraid to let it get a little toasty! The initial 3 minutes on each side is crucial for developing that crisp exterior. For an even crunchier bite, some folks like to toast the bread for a minute or two before applying the butter mixture. And that optional shredded cheese? Don't skip it if you love a gooey, savory topping! Mozzarella is a classic, but a sprinkle of Parmesan or an Italian blend adds a wonderful salty, sharp kick. I've even experimented with a tiny bit of smoked paprika or a dash of red pepper flakes for a subtle smoky heat – transforms it into incredible cheesy garlic bread with a twist! And for those of you wondering about dietary needs – I've seen queries like "gluten free garlic bread" pop up. While my recipe isn't specifically gluten-free, you can absolutely adapt it by using your favorite gluten-free bread! The butter and herb mixture remains the same, so you won't sacrifice any flavor. Just adjust baking times as gluten-free breads can sometimes brown differently. For a dairy-free version, a good quality vegan butter substitute works wonderfully. Finally, don't forget the importance of letting your garlic bread cool for a minute or two after it comes out of the oven. This allows it to crisp up even more, giving you that satisfying crunch with every bite. Serve it hot alongside pasta, soup, or as a stand-alone snack – it's always a crowd-pleaser! Trust me, once you master your homemade garlic bread, you'll never go back to store-bought. Happy baking!

I tried this recipe! It was amazing but I made the recipe smaller, I did 3 tbsp unsalted butter, about 2 tsp garlic powder, two small pinches of salt, a dash of onion powder, and lightly shook parsley over the mixture. I cooked it at 450°F for 6 mins flippin in between and 2 more min. It made 2 slices for me.
