ProteinBalls

My kids and I love these especially being a busy mom in the morning. Sometimes this is all I can eat on the go! They're simple and super easy to make.

Ingredients

• 1 cup rolled oats or quick oats

• 1/2 cup peanut butter or allergy friendly sub

• 1/4 cup pure maple syrup or honey or agave

• 1/8 tsp salt

• handful mini chocolate chips or raisins

A lot of times I'll even double the recipe because the kids eat them so quick.

Mix all your ingredients and roll them into balls. I usually squish it into a ball pretty hard and then start rolling.

Refrigerate after for about an hour and that's it!

These no-bake protein balls combine rolled oats, peanut butter (or allergy-friendly alternatives), and natural sweeteners like maple syrup, honey, or agave to create a balanced snack rich in protein, fiber, and healthy fats. The use of rolled oats provides a good source of complex carbohydrates and dietary fiber, supporting sustained energy release throughout the morning. Peanut butter adds essential proteins and healthy fats, which are vital for growth and satiety. Additionally, incorporating mini chocolate chips or raisins introduces a touch of natural sweetness that appeals to kids, making these snacks both wholesome and tasty. Preparation is straightforward and requires no baking, making it accessible for anyone, including those with limited kitchen time or experience. Simply mixing the ingredients and rolling them into balls, then chilling them for about an hour, solidifies the texture and enhances the flavor. For families dealing with food allergies, the recipe’s flexibility allows for substitutions, such as replacing peanut butter with almond butter, sunflower seed butter, or soy nut butter, ensuring safety and inclusiveness. Incorporating protein balls as a regular snack supports a healthy lifestyle by providing essential nutrients to fuel children's growth and maintain adults’ energy levels. Moreover, homemade protein balls enable control over ingredients, avoiding preservatives and excess sugars commonly found in store-bought options.
