let’s get ready for the day together!🫶🏼 #grwm #morningroutine #getreadywithme #teacher #morningvlog
As an elementary teacher, my mornings typically kick off between 5 and 7 AM, way before my students arrive at 8 AM. But let's be honest, hitting the snooze button one too many times is a frequent occurrence! This morning was no exception. Thankfully, I had planned ahead and done heatless curls the night before, which is an absolute game-changer when you're short on time. Taking these babies out is always a moment of truth – sometimes they're perfectly bouncy, other times, well, they definitely didn't turn out exactly as planned, but they save me precious minutes! Next up, it’s straight to the bathroom for my morning routine. That means skincare, brushing our teeth, and all those good things to wake myself up. I try to keep my skincare simple but effective, using products like EAU THERMALE to give my skin a fresh start. It’s part of that essential 'me time' before the busy school day really begins. Then, it’s time for my beloved little cup of coffee. This is my moment to gather my thoughts and often, if I’m chatting with you all, share a quick update on what’s been happening. This week has been particularly memorable because it’s Red Ribbon Week, which unbelievably, is also the week of Halloween! This means there are dress-up days every single day. I don't know who decided that was a good idea for teachers, but the kids absolutely love it. They’ve been so sweet and easy to redirect, which makes all the extra effort worthwhile. The weather has been crazy too – some mornings it's like 30 degrees, and then by the afternoon, it's 80 degrees, making outfit choices a real puzzle! After my coffee, I quickly put on my makeup for the day. I generally opt for a natural, quick look that can withstand a full day in the classroom. Once that's done, it’s time to tackle the outfit. We're back, we're dressed, and this is our little outfit of the day! The thing is, it looks great right now, but because of the fog and humidity, I know my hair is probably going to go flat. I spent about five seconds trying to figure out what to do with it, and honestly, I'm too scared to take it down now because I don't know what I'd do otherwise! Sometimes, you just have to commit. Mornings as an elementary teacher are a constant juggle of getting ready, preparing for the day, and managing unexpected events like crazy weather or themed school weeks. It’s a rush, but it’s always made better by the anticipation of seeing my wonderful students. I love you guys! Let's keep getting ready for the day and hope you all have a great one. Bye!
