WINTER COURT
WE’RE IN WINTER COURT SEASON, BABY
Icy, white, twinkling, marble, crystals - all of these make me think of the marvelous Winter Court. I simply couldn’t resist adding in those blues and all that marble - makes me think of a frozen lake or mountainous glacier. Both Treacherous and Beautiful. But, really…would we really expect anything less from a Fantastical High Fae Court?

As a huge fan of Sarah J. Maas's ACOTAR series, I'm always looking for ways to bring a little bit of that magical world into my everyday life. And what better way than with some stunning nail art inspired by the breathtaking Winter Court? It's not just about ice and snow; it's about that ethereal, slightly dangerous, yet undeniably beautiful aesthetic that makes the Winter Court so captivating. When I decided to create my own Winter Court-inspired nails, I pictured everything from the grand ice castles to the frozen lakes and majestic glaciers. I wanted my manicure to reflect that treacherous beauty. For my first attempt, I focused on classic icy whites and silver accents. I found that using a combination of a milky white base with a silver glitter top coat really captured that frosted look. For an extra touch, I added small clear gemstone embellishments near the cuticle – they catch the light just like fresh snow! One of my favorite designs incorporated a marble effect. I experimented with a white and gray marble pattern, adding thin silver lines to mimic the intricate veins of ice. If you're feeling adventurous, try adding a touch of blue to your marble design, like a beautiful frozen pond. I’ve even seen gorgeous blue, brown, and white marble nails with delicate gold foil flakes that really elevate the 'frozen elegance' vibe. Don't shy away from different nail shapes for this theme! I often gravitate towards almond-shaped nails because they feel so graceful and fae-like, but long coffin-shaped nails also look absolutely stunning with these designs, giving a more dramatic, regal feel. I've seen some amazing clear coffin-shaped nails with wavy silver line art that truly embody the aesthetic of an ice palace. For those who love sparkle, full silver glitter nails are a must. Or, for a more subtle shimmer, an iridescent flake overlay can transform any base color into a winter wonderland. I've also tried delicate white snowflake patterns on a clear or light blue base, which are surprisingly easy to achieve with stamping plates or even small nail decals. And for a truly luxurious touch, consider adding rhinestone accents. They really make your nails pop! If you prefer a softer, more delicate look, a pink-to-white ombré effect with subtle glitter can still evoke a wintery feel without being overtly 'icy.' It reminds me of a sunrise over a snowy landscape. I’ve also been admiring intricate white scrollwork designs on a beige base – it's so elegant and perfectly captures the ornate beauty of a High Fae court. Getting these looks doesn't have to be hard. For DIY, invest in good quality gel polishes in white, silver, and various blues. Nail art brushes, dotting tools, and stamping kits are your best friends. Don't forget nail glue for those tiny gems! If you're heading to a salon, bring plenty of reference pictures – especially the ones from this post! Ask for marble techniques, glitter gradients, or specific gemstone placements. Be clear about wanting an 'icy, high-fae' aesthetic, and your nail artist will likely be excited to help you achieve your Winter Court dreams. I hope these ideas inspire you to embrace the Winter Court season with your own stunning manicure!
