Perfume Review: Sand + Fog
Now, I have purchased Sand + Fog candles for a long, long time and they always hit - so I knew the scents would be immaculate when they made a perfume and baby, I was not wrong.
The ONLY THING I am worried about is staying power - Sand + Fog candles don’t linger as long as I would like and it seems to be the same with their perfume. It’s a GORGEOUS scent for a very affordable price point so I am not mad at it. Violet and Sandalwood is going to be a DAILY go to fragrance for me because it’s that good.
But, these are definitely an oil you have to reapply after a few hours.

After seeing Sand + Fog candles everywhere, I was so excited when they launched their perfume oils! Like many of you, I'm always on the hunt for affordable fragrances that smell amazing, and these definitely caught my eye. My initial thoughts on the Violet & Sandalwood were spot on – it's a truly exquisite blend, hitting all the right notes for a sweet, floral, and woodsy scent with those intriguing 'dark academic vibes' that I absolutely adore. It immediately became a 10/10 in my book for the scent alone! But the Sand + Fog collection offers more than just Violet & Sandalwood. I also dove into the Vanilla Musk and Jasmine & Cedarwood options, and they're equally captivating in their own ways. The Vanilla Musk is a gorgeous 8/10 for me – sweet, undeniably sexy, and incredibly smooth. It truly melts into your skin, creating a warm, inviting aura that’s perfect for everyday wear or a special night out. If you're into those cozy, comforting yet seductive scents, this one is a must-try. Then there's the Jasmine & Cedarwood, which instantly transported me to a serene, enchanted garden. With its 9/10 rating, it’s a beautiful blend of floral sweetness with a grounding woodsy depth, giving off serious 'cottagecore vibes.' It's light, airy, but still has a presence, making it ideal for those who prefer a more natural, earthy floral. Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room: lasting power. The original article mentioned it, and my experience aligns – these are definitely oils you'll need to reapply. The Vanilla Musk and Violet & Sandalwood both clocked in at about a 3/5 lasting power for me, meaning they stick around for a few hours. The Jasmine & Cedarwood was a bit less, closer to 3/10. For those wondering 'para que serve?' or how to make them last, here are my top tips: I always make sure to moisturize my skin thoroughly before applying, as well-hydrated skin holds fragrance better. Applying to pulse points like your wrists, neck, and behind your ears also helps. You can even try layering them with unscented lotions or body oils to create a longer-lasting base. Sometimes, I’ll even dab a little onto my clothes for an extra boost, though always test a small area first! Given their super affordable price point, the need for reapplication isn't a deal-breaker for me. You get a beautiful, complex scent for a fraction of the cost of many designer perfumes. And speaking of cost, the 'dupe' question often comes up with affordable fragrances. While I wouldn't necessarily call them direct 'dupes' for any specific high-end perfume, I do think Sand + Fog perfume oils offer fantastic alternatives for popular scent profiles. If you love a certain vibe – be it a rich vanilla, a sophisticated violet, or a fresh, woodsy floral – these provide an accessible way to enjoy those types of fragrances without breaking the bank. They're excellent for building a versatile perfume collection without a huge investment, allowing you to switch up your scent daily. Overall, if you're looking for stunning, budget-friendly fragrance oils and don't mind reapplying throughout the day, Sand + Fog is absolutely worth exploring!
