Such a lovely and beautiful place according to Feyre - until we get to ACOMAF, anyway…
I chose light, bright, springtime colors with plenty of gold accents to mark the Spring Courts abundance. The official symbol of the Spring Court is a red rose but I feel that a bright red wouldn’t match the vibes of the rolling green hills and the clear, bottomless lakes that are described in the book. Or even the grand Manor house where Feyre is forced to reside.
I wanted to capture the light, airy hopefulness that Feyre felt during her time in the Spring Court and I think I didn’t do too bad - what do you think?
... Read moreAs a fellow ACOTAR enthusiast, diving into the enchanting world of the Spring Court for nail art is pure magic! Beyond just pretty colors, it’s about capturing that entire whimsical, sometimes melancholic, aesthetic that unfolds in the books. I’ve spent countless hours poring over the descriptions of the lush landscapes, the serene lakes, and the elegant manor, trying to translate that unique vibe onto my fingertips.
When I personally envision the Spring Court, I see endless green hills, crystal-clear water, and trees bursting with blossoms – a gentle aesthetic that might surprise some given the official red rose symbol. For my nails, I often lean into soft pastels: delicate mint greens that echo the rolling lawns, serene sky blues for those 'bottomless lakes,' and blush pinks to represent the gentle florals. I love incorporating creamy whites and soft yellows to evoke that feeling of light and new beginnings, much like Feyre’s initial hope there. It's about creating a harmonious, light, and airy feel.
Flowers are absolutely key to the Spring Court aesthetic, and there are so many ways to interpret them for nail art! While the books mention a vibrant red rose, I’ve found that delicate, watercolor-style red roses with a softer touch, or tiny, pink blossoming tree designs, work beautifully to capture the court's overall gentler vibe. I’ve even tried creating delicate floral designs with gold leaf accents on a light, neutral base, which really elevates the look. For those who love intricate details, pink rose designs with detailed gold outlines on a subtly marbled background can be absolutely stunning and reflect the court's understated luxury.
The abundance of the Spring Court truly shines through its liberal use of gold. And yes, for anyone searching for 'gold beads nails,' this is where they truly come into their own! I adore adding tiny gold studs or gold beads along the cuticle or as subtle accents within a floral design to add that touch of opulence. Beyond beads, gold leaf flakes scattered over a soft, almost translucent base instantly elevate the manicure, giving it a rich, ethereal glow. The OCR images also gave me so much inspiration for elaborate gold scrollwork patterns – these take a bit more patience but are absolutely worth it for that regal, manor-house feel. Don't be afraid to mix and match different types of gold: a subtle gold tip, a full gold glitter accent nail, or delicate gold outlines for your floral designs.
To truly capture the 'manor house aesthetic,' I've experimented with subtle textures and patterns. Think light gray and gold designs with delicate botanical patterns or even a white with gold marbling effect to mimic the grand architecture and intricate details described in the books. Using a matte top coat on some nails while keeping others glossy can add another layer of sophistication and depth. I was particularly inspired by the idea of light blue textured flowers with gold accents – it adds such a unique, dimensional quality to the nail art. For those who prefer a more minimalist approach, a translucent light pink base with even a single, delicate gold element can speak volumes.
For those intricate details, my go-to tools are a good set of thin nail art brushes and a reliable dotting tool. Gel polish can give you more working time for complex designs, but regular polish can also create beautiful results if you work quickly! Always finish with a high-quality top coat to protect your masterpiece and give it that lasting shine or elegant matte finish. Don't be discouraged if your first attempt isn't perfect; it's all about practice and enjoying the creative process. Remember, your nails are a tiny canvas to express your love for ACOTAR and the enchanting Spring Court!
Tamlin is the only reason I’m not running to my nail tech. 😭
