My favorite BLs of 2025 ✨
This year was an interesting year overall. I’ve been a fujoshi for years, but haven’t indulged in any yaoi recently, so I decided to make that change. I made a Lezhin account and went down a rabbit hole that I’ll probably never leave.
ʚ My Top 5 ɞ
5. Steel Under Silk: I am an addict for stories that make me wonder what will happen next. Yeonjo’s family was killed by General Kwon Hee-ryang and he dedicated his time to plot his revenge on him— only to catch feelings. Season 1 was a long ride of an interesting cat and mouse game and I’m so curious to see how this story will end! Especially, since Snob said that in this three season story, season 2 is the romance arc.
4. Painter of the Night: I enjoy red to green flag stories a lot, and this one definitely takes the cake. Nakyum is an artist who specializes in male erotica. His paintings intrigues Seungho, a nobleman with negative reputation. Nakyum swore that he’ll never paint again only to find himself falling for Lord Seungho. This is a story I feel like every fujoshi should read (along with BJ Alex). So many want Lezhin to retire this story, but it’s so good in many ways.
3. Scent & Sensibility: An omega verse story with an art style that I am obsessed with?? YES PLEASE! Moon Dobin is an omega that normally doesn’t fall receptive to the pheromones of alphas. Because of this, he is paid to provide pheromone therapy to his boss Seo Tae-Oh, who can’t sense pheromones. This one is so cute to me because Tae-Oh becomes so down bad for Dobin. He loves him so much!!
2. The Pizza Delivery Man and the Gold Palace: I honestly can’t stop yapping about this one. Seo-an and Woo-won are my precious babies. Woo-woon is down on his luck, where picked up a job as a pizza delivery man to earn extra money. The Gold Palace is known as the building where they tip their drivers generously. Upon delivering an order, he meets Seo-an: the son of a CEO. See-an has panic disorder and Woo-won becomes his antidote to help him. I love this story so much!!
1. Under the Greenlight: This is a story about devotion and I can yap about it all day. Matthew is a sculptor who is working on creating a sculpture for an art exhibition. While working as a barista, he notices a beautiful man walking past the window. That man was the man he was waiting for 15 years. JAXX did an amazing job with the story telling with this series and I want a physical copy so bad.
꒰ Honorable Mentions ꒱
- Killer Crush: This one was such a fun read and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a read. Too Taeman is a trained killer whose main duty is to kill a target and never leave a trace behind. His 14 years of experience allowed him to kill with no hesitation without letting his emotions get in the way. That is until he is smitten with the famous actor Kang Dahyeok.
- Unsleep: This one genuinely had me cackling. Lee Seung-hyeon was falsely accused of sexual harassment on the subway, causing him to miss the presentation and fail the class. While desperate to salvage his GPA before graduation, he enrolls in summer classes to find himself stuck in another group project. One of his group mates, Seo Chaejun, turns out to be the veery person of who accused hun of sexual harassment.
- Virtual Strangers: I love seeing love stories revolve around nerd interests like gaming. After a stalking incident, Ji-gu is suspicious of everyone—especially his strange new neighbor. What he doesn’t know is that Yeowoon is just a normal guy… and his unexpected gaming partner. As misunderstandings pile up IRL and teamwork blossoms online, a wary tsundere and a golden-hearted flirt are thrown into a hilarious, chaotic adventure.
- Roses & Champagne: I personally enjoyed this one. I like the idea of loving someone through their flaws, even though I don’t condone everything Caesar does in this story. This is one where I can only recommend to those who don’t mind reading a story with a known red flag.

Wow, it’s amazing how deep you can dive into the BL world once you start exploring! After sharing my top picks, I realized there’s so much more to gush about, especially when it comes to those hidden gems and specific tropes we all adore. I know many of you are constantly looking for new *BLs to read*, and trust me, I'm right there with you! Let’s talk a bit more about some of the series I mentioned and some popular themes. For instance, 'Scent & Sensibility' truly captured my heart with its unique omegaverse setting. It's not just another alpha/omega story; the dynamic between Moon Dobin and Seo Tae-Oh is just *chef's kiss*. The idea of an omega immune to pheromones and an alpha who can't sense them creates such an interesting, almost pure, connection. Plus, the beautiful art style is absolutely mesmerizing, pulling you deeper into their world where Tae-Oh is just so wonderfully down bad for Dobin. It's the kind of boss/employee romance that makes you swoon! Then there's 'Killer Crush,' which is such a fantastic blend of genres. Who knew an assassin falling for a celebrity could be so endearing? The comedy in this series is spot on, providing much-needed levity amidst the thrilling plot. And for those who prefer their romance to be more about tension and build-up, it’s worth noting that the OCR mentioned "no sex scenes," making it a great choice if you're looking for a heartwarming story without explicit content. 'Unsleep' kept me on the edge of my seat! The college setting and the 'friends to lovers' arc, especially with a younger top dynamic, was just so engaging. The initial misunderstanding and the subsequent slow burn development between Lee Seung-hyeon and Seo Chaejun, complete with those adorable *eyebags*, is incredibly well-written. If you're following the latest chapters – like those searching for 'Unsleep ch 54' or 'Unsleep bl chapter 2' – you know the emotional rollercoaster continues, making you root for them every step of the way. It’s definitely a series that makes you want to binge-read every single chapter! Speaking of tropes, the 'younger top' is definitely one I've grown to appreciate, offering a fresh dynamic to many BL stories. It often brings a different kind of energy and sometimes a surprising maturity to the relationship. And on the flip side, some of us, myself included, can't resist a good 'red flag' story or those with more *mature themes*. Series like 'Roses & Champagne' or 'Painter of the Night' (with its exploration of 'male erotica') aren't for everyone, but they delve into complex characters and relationships that are incredibly compelling. It’s important to remember to check content warnings, of course, but sometimes exploring these darker or more intense narratives can be incredibly thought-provoking and satisfying for an adult manhwa reader. And for those of you who, like me, scour the internet for new reads, there are always more titles to discover on platforms like Lezhin. I've heard amazing things about 'Intimate Days with My Tsundere Housemate' for its cute and often hilarious interactions. 'The Thread Never Burned' is another one that pops up in recommendations for its unique plotline. And if you enjoyed the 'neighbors' trope in 'Virtual Strangers,' you might also find 'Close as Neighbors' an interesting read. Even 'Negative Love Manhwa' on Lezhin has been on my radar for its promise of a deeply emotional and perhaps angsty romance. Honestly, the world of BL manhwa and webtoons is vast and ever-growing. There’s something for every taste, whether you’re into historical settings, modern love, intense drama, or lighthearted comedy. Don’t be afraid to try new genres or artists! My journey into these stories has been nothing short of amazing, and I love finding new series that make my heart flutter or keep me up all night. Happy reading, fellow fujoshis!
