When I first dive into fanart, especially something inspired by popular themes like OFMD, it sets a fun tone for the whole book. Using gouache paints adds a unique texture and vibrancy that's different from other mediums like watercolor or acrylic, giving each piece a distinct feel. While not every piece turns out perfect, the key is to embrace the process and learn from each attempt. I find that pushing myself to try styles or subjects I’m less confident in often leads to unexpected growth. For instance, working on Sketchbook 43, despite my initial hesitation, allowed me to experiment freely without pressure, which improved my painting skills over time. Also, fanart communities provide great feedback and inspiration, helping me stay motivated. Even if some works are not my favorites, the act of sharing and connecting with others passionate about art enhances the creative journey. So, whether you’re sketching fanart or creating original compositions, remember that every effort contributes to your artistic development and enjoyment.
