to me it honestly depends on
looks or character
It's a question I often ponder, and honestly, my answer truly depends on the context: is it looks or character that holds more weight? We live in a world where first impressions are heavily influenced by appearance. From social media to daily interactions, the visual aspect often grabs our attention first. There's an undeniable initial pull toward someone we find aesthetically pleasing, and it's natural to be drawn to beauty. Society, media, and even our own biology can contribute to placing a high value on physical attractiveness. However, as I've grown and experienced more, I've come to realize that while looks might open the door, it's character that keeps it open. Think about it: once you move past the initial visual assessment, what truly sustains a relationship, a friendship, or even a professional connection? Itās the kindness, integrity, humor, empathy, and reliability someone possesses. These are the traits that build trust, foster deep understanding, and create a lasting bond. When you really get to know someone, their character shines through, often making their physical appearance seem secondary or even enhancing it in your eyes. This is where the phrase "IF YOU REALLY KNOW ME..." truly resonates. Someone might be stunning on the outside, but if their character is flawed ā if they're unkind, dishonest, or self-centered ā that initial attraction quickly fades. Conversely, someone who might not fit conventional beauty standards can become incredibly attractive once their beautiful character is revealed. Their warmth, resilience, and genuine spirit can make them shine brighter than any physical feature. For me, the long-term happiness and satisfaction derived from any relationship, be it romantic or platonic, are anchored in character. While a spark can be ignited by looks, the fire is kept alive by shared values, mutual respect, and consistent good character. It's about how someone makes you feel, how they treat others, and the person they are when no one is watching. These are the qualities that truly define a person's worth and their impact on the world around them. So, when faced with the choice, "WHICH ONE?" I lean heavily towards character. It's the foundation upon which meaningful connections are built, the substance that withstands the test of time, and ultimately, what enriches our lives. Looks might be a fleeting moment of admiration, but character is an enduring legacy.
