Bean toesssss 🫶

Bean toast has become one of my favorite quick meals, especially when I want something both savory and sturdy to keep me going through a busy morning. I personally love using baked beans for this because they’re already seasoned and give a nice texture that pairs well with the toast’s crunch. To make it even tastier, I sometimes add a sprinkle of chili flakes or a dash of smoked paprika which really elevates the flavor. When choosing the bread, I prefer a thick slice of sourdough or multigrain bread as it holds the beans well without becoming soggy. Toasting the bread to a golden brown before spreading the beans ensures a perfect contrast in texture. Adding a bit of melted cheese on top while the beans are warm can also bring a lovely creaminess to the dish. This dish is not only quick and easy but also quite flexible. If you want to increase the protein content, topping the beans with a poached egg is a great option. For a vegan twist, use plant-based cheese or add avocado slices for extra creaminess and nutrients.
