The 3 hikes I’m most excited to revisit!🥾

3.) Navajo Loop and Queens Garden Trail - Bryce Canyon National Park

It is so other-worldly and beautiful and I can’t wait for a trip back to this park and this incredible trail!

2.) The Narrows - Zion National Park

One of the most unique hikes I’ve ever done, will try and go even further down the river next time!

1.) Skyline Trail - Mount Rainier National Park

I loved this hike so much even without seeing the mountain, I can’t imagine how amazing it’s going to be with the mountain out!

Which hike is number one on your re-visit list??

... Read moreThere's nothing quite like the thrill of revisiting a favorite trail! When I think about those incredible national park hikes, it's not just about the views, but the full experience—the crisp air, the sounds of nature, and that feeling of accomplishment. Let me share a bit more about why these particular trails stick with you and some considerations for your own adventures. Navajo Loop and Queens Garden Trail, Bryce Canyon National Park: This combo trail truly feels like stepping onto another planet. Walking among those towering orange-red hoodoos, you realize pictures often don't do it justice! The descent into the canyon on the Navajo Loop, often through 'Wall Street' with its towering rock formations, is absolutely breathtaking. Then, winding through the Queens Garden part, you get up close with unique formations like Queen Victoria. While the main loop is manageable, you can easily extend your time by connecting with other rim trails for a longer, scenic mountainous landscape experience. Make sure you have a sturdy backpack with plenty of water, as the climb back out can be strenuous, especially on a sunny day! The unique, other-worldly beauty is worth every step; you'll constantly stop to take it all in. The Narrows, Zion National Park: Oh, The Narrows! This isn't just a hike; it's an immersive adventure. Wading through the shallow river, with steep canyon walls rising hundreds of feet above you, is an experience unlike any other. Next time, I'm definitely planning to go even further upriver. To truly enjoy this unique hike, proper gear is essential. You'll want sturdy water shoes with good grip and definitely a reliable hiking pole for stability on the slippery riverbed. A waterproof backpack is a lifesaver for your essentials. Always check the river levels and flash flood warnings before you go. It's truly a bucket-list item, and the feeling of hiking directly in the water surrounded by such natural grandeur is unforgettable. Skyline Trail, Mount Rainier National Park: Even without a clear view of Mount Rainier itself, the Skyline Trail is absolutely stunning. I loved this hike so much for its incredible variety—from lush evergreen trees to vibrant autumn foliage, and expansive views of the surrounding mountainous landscape. When I revisit, I'm hoping for a clearer day to see the magnificent mountain, but honestly, the trail's beauty stands on its own. Be prepared for all types of weather; a cloudy sky can quickly turn to sun or even rain, so layers are key. This trail offers some of the best wildflower displays in late summer, turning the meadows into a riot of color. It’s a fantastic example of a trail where the journey itself is the destination, offering many opportunities to extend your hike or connect to other trails for different perspectives. Tips for Your Next National Park Hiking Adventure: When planning to revisit or discover new trails, consider how different seasons can completely transform the experience. A trail loved in summer for its wildflowers might be even more magical with autumn foliage. Always check the latest park conditions, trail lengths, and any permit requirements, especially for popular routes. Packing essentials in your backpack—water, snacks, sun protection, and a map—is crucial for any hike. Don't forget that trusty hiking pole, especially if navigating uneven terrain or riverbeds. Each time you step out onto a trail, it's an opportunity to create new memories and deepen your connection with these incredible national parks.

The Part No One Ever Sees
From the outside, decisions often look simple. People see the moment someone walks away. They see the calm expression, the quiet reaction, the lack of explanation. To them, it looks easy. But what most people never see is the internal process that happened before that moment ever arrived.
