... Read moreHey everyone! So glad you're checking out my go-to LEG DAY routine that really puts a glutes focus on your workout! I wanted to share a little more about why I love these exercises and how to get the most out of them, especially if you're looking to really build and sculpt. First off, don't skip your warm-up! I always start with 5-10 minutes of light cardio, like jogging or cycling, followed by some dynamic stretches. Think leg swings, hip circles, and cat-cow stretches to get your blood flowing and prepare your muscles for the heavy lifting. This seriously prevents injury and sets you up for a better session. Now, let's talk about the exercises themselves. The Romanian Deadlifts (RDLs) are amazing for hamstring and glute development, but form is key. Focus on pushing your hips back, keeping a slight bend in your knees, and maintaining a straight back. You should feel a deep stretch in your hamstrings. Don't worry too much about heavy weight initially; master the movement first! Hip Thrusts are my absolute favorite for direct glute activation. Make sure your upper back is supported on a bench and your feet are flat on the floor, about hip-width apart. Drive through your heels, squeeze your glutes hard at the top, and control the descent. It's all about that mind-muscle connection here – really feel those glutes working! Deficit Reverse Lunges are fantastic for unilateral strength and hitting each glute individually. By standing on a slight elevation (the deficit), you allow for a deeper stretch in the glute of the working leg, which can lead to better muscle activation. Keep your core tight and maintain balance throughout the movement. Finally, Glute Hyperextensions (or reverse hyperextensions depending on the setup) are a great finisher to really pump blood into the glutes and erector spinae, improving that overall glute shape. Focus on squeezing at the top and avoid using momentum. After your workout, remember to cool down with some static stretches, holding each stretch for 20-30 seconds. This helps with flexibility and recovery. Also, don't forget protein and hydration! Fuelling your body properly post-workout is just as important as the workout itself for muscle repair and growth. Consistency is key, so stick with it, listen to your body, and enjoy seeing those glute gains! You got this! 💖
