virtual journalš¦
Here is my honest review as someone who has used kilonotes for a week.
I did find it to have a bit of a learning curve being that I am using the free version.
They do have free journal covers but I did make my own before they loaded in. I am not upstairs about that cause I like the covers I made but I wish they would have loaded in the first time.
this journal specifically is used as an overall life planner. I have the monthly and daily sheets in it as of now. I would like to use it for budgeting as well but I have yet to find a way to format it Functionally.
There is a long way to go to make it cuter and more functional but as of right now, my only issue is that my S-pen controls don't work with it. My pen does draw I just would like all of the functions of my pen to work with it

After a full week diving into the Kilonotes app, I've gathered some insights that I hope can help fellow digital planners! While my initial review covered the basics, I want to share more about how I'm really making this app work for my 'Organized Chaos' lifestyle and offer some solutions to common hurdles. One of the biggest draws for me was the potential to create a truly personalized planning system. Inspired by my own digital journal covers, like the 'Organized Chaos' design, I've found that custom templates are key. If you're searching for a 'Kilonotes planner template,' know that you don't always have to rely on pre-made options. The app's flexibility allows you to design your own monthly and daily layouts. For instance, my 'March monthly plan' helps me track everything from cleaning schedules to meal planning and even specific financial tasks like payday. Similarly, my 'daily planner' for February 16th (and beyond!) is set up to time-block everything from sleep to homework and social media posting schedules. Don't be afraid to experiment with tables and shapes to build the perfect structure for your needs. Speaking of structure, budgeting within Kilonotes can be a bit tricky, as I mentioned previously. I've been experimenting with a few workarounds. One effective method is to create a simple table directly in the app, using rows for income and expenses and columns for categories. This allows for manual tracking, and you can even import a screenshot of a budget template found online and simply write over it. It might not be automated, but it brings that satisfying feeling of physically (or digitally!) writing things down. My S-pen compatibility issue was a minor frustration, but I've found that sometimes checking your device's general pen settings, or even the Kilonotes app's specific settings under 'handwriting' or 'tools,' can reveal options you might have missed. If full S-pen gesture support isn't there, focus on its core drawing and writing functions, which are still incredibly useful for annotating and personalizing your pages. Sometimes, a quick app restart or ensuring your device's software is up to date can also help. For anyone just starting with the Kilonotes app, especially on the free version, don't get discouraged by the initial learning curve. Explore the different paper types and pens available. Try making your own simple 'My Kilonotes life journal' cover to instantly personalize your experience. Utilize the Lasso tool for moving elements around, and don't underestimate the power of layers if you're importing images or stickers. The app truly shines when you lean into its customization features, transforming it from a blank slate into your unique 'Organized Chaos' command center. Dive in, experiment, and enjoy the process of building your perfect digital planner!
