It’s interesting how some women feel validated when a taken man pursues them.
But what exactly are you winning?
At what cost does that attention come?
Another woman’s peace.
Another woman’s trust.
Another woman’s heart.
If he’s stepping outside of his commitment to flatter you,
that attention isn’t a compliment —
it’s evidence of his character.
And if your confidence is built on someone else’s betrayal,
is it really confidence?
Real self-worth doesn’t need borrowed validation.
Especially not at the expense of another woman.
Integrity will always feel better than attention.
From personal experience and reflection, I’ve noticed that being pursued by a taken man can seem flattering at first—it's a temporary boost to the ego that can feel validating. However, this attention often comes with a hidden price: it deeply hurts the woman he's committed to. Witnessing this kind of situation repeatedly has taught me that the fleeting thrill of being 'chosen' by someone unavailable isn’t a foundation for lasting self-esteem. Instead, it's a reflection of their character, not yours. True confidence builds from within and thrives on respect for oneself and others. It’s important to consider what our actions say about our values and standards. When we accept the attention of someone betraying another’s trust, we inadvertently become part of that betrayal. This does not empower us; it diminishes our integrity. As a community, especially among women, supporting each other’s peace and trust is a form of strength that surpasses momentary validation through questionable means. Moreover, the attention from someone who is not fully available is often inconsistent and unreliable. Real connections require honesty and commitment, not stolen moments filled with risk and secrecy. I encourage anyone who has felt tempted by this kind of attention to pause and ask themselves what they truly want in life and relationships. Real self-worth does not need to be borrowed or built on another’s pain—it is cultivated through self-love, respect, and integrity. Choosing integrity means standing firm in your values, even when faced with tempting but empty flattery. It means valuing your own peace and the peace of others over superficial validation. In the long run, integrity will always feel better than attention because it fosters genuine confidence and lasting self-respect.
