i’m perfectly happy! Without religion.
Now this might seem crazy to some of you lol. I’m sure we’ve all seen and experienced the religious side of this app. Now i’m not here to hate on anyone’s beliefs, you can believe what you want.
I’m simply here to say that I really don’t want your prayers, you to hope I find God, or anything like that.
I came to my own conclusion around the age of 11-13 that Christianity is something that isn’t for me, and that not only does it not resonate with me, but I find it wrong in many instances where it is used to justify bad behavior. I don’t find peace in it, because it doesn’t make sense. I don’t enjoy the bible, as it’s not based in science, history, or fact. It was written by a man, not by god. I hate how people use the bible as an excuse to be intolerant, homophobic, and literally hateful, and claim it is in the name of god.
I want to clarify that those who truly love their neighbors, those who understand that Jesus would have been radically for equality and love among everyone, I have loads of respect for.
So yeah, I don’t need god to fulfill me. I don’t need a religion to tell me what’s right and wrong, and how to act, and how to treat people. I do not wish to or need to find god. I believe in myself, and I find joy and light on my own in my life. I think faith in yourself is and should be stronger than faith in essentially a storybook. Again, I’m really not trying to be offensive or bash beliefs, but I’m not going to pretend as if the bible is literal history/science/fact based. I’m sure this is gonna have a lot of opinionated comments and i’m open to discussion, but please keep it respectful and reasonable. There are PLENTY of religious posts on this app and this is literally just me stating my own views (agnostic, as in I do believe in a higher power just not within organized religion).
I’ll leave y’all with this question. If your religion or faith defines you, as in it’s what defines your morals, who you are, who you want to be, what you do, and how you think, then who really are you? Don’t you want to live your life for you? Don’t you want to figure things out for yourself? Why do you give god so much credit as if you aren’t the one living your life?

In a world where religion influences many people's lives, the discussion around individual beliefs is vital. Many find peace and comfort in faith, while others, like myself, seek fulfillment outside of organized religion. I realized at a young age that traditional religious teachings didn’t resonate with me, often associating them with intolerance and dogma rather than love and acceptance. It’s crucial to understand that personal belief systems can differ widely. For me, self-reliance and understanding my values independently of a religious framework brought clarity and joy. I believe that exploring one’s own morals and ethics is a journey worth undertaking. Engaging with different perspectives can enrich our understanding and foster empathy. People often cling to religious identities that define their existence and guide their actions. However, I encourage others to question whether their beliefs reflect their true self. By stepping away from tradition and examining personal values, individuals can cultivate a deeper understanding of themselves. Open discussions about beliefs—including agnosticism and atheism—are essential for growth. Sharing diverse opinions allows individuals to appreciate the multitude of ways people find meaning in their lives. Ultimately, the goal is to inspire each other to lead authentic lives defined by individual experiences rather than conforming to societal expectations. These conversations are not just about rejecting religion; rather, they explore the nuances of belief, morality, and personal fulfillment. As we navigate this complex landscape, remember that it’s perfectly valid to seek happiness beyond the confines of organized faith.

i’m overly religious and take religion very seriously for myself. i’ll never understand people who sit in these comments and make hateful comments toward someone who ISN’T religious. treating non-christians like garbage is the most unbiblical thing you could do
