✨Just don’t do it✨

... Read moreHey everyone! I've been spending a lot of time recently reflecting on one particular Bible verse that has really resonated with me: Matthew 7:6. You know the one – it says, 'Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine.' For a long time, I actually found this verse a bit confusing, even a little harsh. But after diving deeper and experiencing certain situations in my own life, I've come to understand its incredible wisdom. At its core, this verse isn't about being judgmental or withholding goodness from people. Instead, I see it as a powerful lesson in discernment and stewardship. What are these 'pearls' and 'holy things' that Jesus talks about? For me, they represent our deepest spiritual truths, our most sacred beliefs, our vulnerabilities, and even our precious time and energy. These are the things that are invaluable to us, the insights we've gained through our faith journey. The 'dogs' and 'swine' aren't necessarily bad people, but rather those who are either unreceptive, unwilling to understand, or actively hostile towards these sacred things. They might mock, ridicule, or simply be incapable of appreciating the value of what you're offering. I've definitely had moments where I’ve poured my heart out, sharing something deeply personal or spiritually significant, only to be met with blank stares, dismissal, or even outright negativity. It felt like I was literally 'casting my pearls before swine,' and it was disheartening, to say the least. Learning to apply Matthew 7:6 has been transformative for my peace of mind. It’s taught me that it’s okay, and even wise, to protect certain aspects of my spiritual life and personal growth. It doesn't mean I stop sharing my faith or being kind; it means I learn to share *wisely*. I ask myself: Is this person genuinely open to hearing this? Do they have the capacity to understand and respect what I'm about to share? Or am I just setting myself up for frustration and having my 'pearls' trampled underfoot? This discernment also extends to how I spend my energy. Sometimes, engaging in endless debates with those who are determined to misunderstand or belittle your beliefs can be incredibly draining. This verse empowers me to recognize when to step back, pray for them, and conserve my spiritual energy for more fruitful interactions. It's about recognizing that not everyone is ready for every truth, and not every environment is suitable for every sharing. Ultimately, Matthew 7:6 has become a guide for me in recognizing the sanctity of my own spiritual journey and the importance of sharing it with those who will truly value it. It's about cherishing what's holy and understanding that true love also involves wisdom in how and when we share our most precious gifts. It’s a beautiful reminder to protect your inner sanctuary and connect with those who appreciate the 'pearls' you carry.
