Lessons learned (so far) moving away LA to SF
👍Pros:
- The ocean water is so close and I definitely did not take this for granted. If I’m feeling up for it I can run 45 min towards the ocean. I’ve always loved the sea.
🤔Cons:
- I lived in a cloudy area and it got to me emotionally! -Definitely have to be proactive to chase the sun
- moved because the rent decreased but everything else is more expensive ( groceries, restaurants, etc)
- Not knowing the city puts me at a disadvantage for safety
Moving from Los Angeles to San Francisco presents unique challenges and opportunities. The proximity to the ocean is a significant advantage, providing a refreshing escape and recreational activities such as running along the beach. However, it's essential to be aware of the drawbacks, like the emotional impact of living in a cloudier climate and the increased costs of everyday essentials. For newcomers, safety concerns can arise due to unfamiliarity with the city. It’s vital to research neighborhoods and engage with locals to find safe and vibrant areas. Additionally, being proactive in seeking sunny days can greatly enhance emotional well-being, making daily life more enjoyable. Embracing the cultural shifts and exploring local gems can lead to rewarding experiences in your new home.
