1. Only use frozen fruit @wegmans - no ice!! As the ice melts, your smoothie gets watered down and it also won’t blend as smooth as smoothies made with just frozen fruit. I always use a frozen banana in my smoothies + frozen berries - it’s a total game changer!!
2. Add protein powder @plantbasedvegans (if you want) protein powder makes my smoothies literally taste like ice cream!! It also gives a super creamy texture
3. Invest in a high speed blender - we all know i love my @nutribullet blender!

After mastering the art of the super creamy smoothie thanks to those amazing tips (seriously, frozen fruit instead of ice is a game-changer!), I often get asked, 'Okay, but what recipes do you actually use?' So, I wanted to share a few of my absolute favorite protein shake recipes that are not only delicious and creamy but also packed with goodness. These are my go-to's for a quick breakfast, a post-workout refuel, or even a healthy dessert! First up, let's talk about a twist on the classic mango berry combo. You know I love my frozen mango and berries, but adding a specific protein source makes it extra special. I call this my Tropical Mango Berry Protein Bliss. Tropical Mango Berry Protein Bliss This one is inspired by the vibrant flavors of summer and is incredibly refreshing. It's also super easy to customize! Ingredients: 1 cup frozen mango chunks 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries work great!) 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder (I often reach for a plant-based one, like the one I mentioned trying, or a dairy option like Chobani protein beverage for extra creaminess and flavor.) 1/2 frozen banana (for ultimate creaminess and natural sweetness!) 1/2 - 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (adjust for desired thickness) Optional: a squeeze of fresh lime juice for an extra zing, or a spoonful of shredded coconut. Instructions: Combine all ingredients in your high-speed blender (my Nutribullet handles this perfectly!). Blend until completely smooth and creamy. If it's too thick, add a tiny splash more almond milk. Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy immediately! It tastes just like a tropical vacation in a glass. Next, for those days when I'm craving something a bit more indulgent but still healthy, I turn to my Choc-Peanut Butter Dream Shake. It's like a healthier milkshake! Choc-Peanut Butter Dream Shake This one is a total comfort in a cup and perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth without the guilt. Ingredients: 1 frozen banana 1 scoop chocolate protein powder 1-2 tablespoons natural peanut butter (or almond butter for a different twist) 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 - 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your milk of choice) Optional: a pinch of sea salt to enhance the chocolate flavor, or a few ice cubes if you like it extra frosty and don't have a fully frozen banana. Instructions: Add all ingredients to your blender. Blend until silky smooth. If you like it thicker, start with less milk. Serve chilled and try not to drink it too fast! Finally, if you're looking to sneak in some greens without tasting them, my Green Goddess Protein Smoothie is your jam. Green Goddess Protein Smoothie Don't let the color fool you; this one is surprisingly delicious and a powerhouse of nutrients. Ingredients: 1 cup fresh spinach (you won't taste it, I promise!) 1/2 frozen banana 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks (or mango for extra sweetness) 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder 1/2 cup water or unsweetened coconut water Optional: 1/4 inch slice of fresh ginger for a zing, or a teaspoon of chia seeds for extra fiber. Instructions: Place the spinach and liquid in the blender first and blend until smooth to ensure no leafy bits. Add the remaining ingredients and blend again until perfectly smooth and creamy. Enjoy your dose of greens! These recipes are just a starting point, of course! The beauty of protein shakes is how versatile they are. Feel free to experiment with different frozen fruits, protein powder flavors, and liquids. The key is always to use frozen fruit for that incredible creaminess we all love. Happy blending!
