What I read in a week as a non speed reader

I wouldn’t describe myself as a fast reader but when a book is good I can’t put it down. I read both of these just in a week.

This is my first time reading a Freida McFadden book and so far I like her work. I’ve heard lots of mixed reviews but I’ll just have to be the judge of her works myself.

The second one wasn’t AS good as the first in the same sense of like omg what’s going on behind closed doors bc by the second book you already know what the MC does for a living and what her “secret” is. But that twist! I must say I didn’t see that coming. Loved it.

Also I do love a good romance and the second one had the perfect balance of mystery and romance I love it. So much. Don’t wanna spoil anything but just know that couple… love them so much😭🫶🏾 I’d read a book just about their relationship frl😂 he’s one of them overprotective MMCs. Love himmmmm they so cute.

... Read moreIn just one week, I immersed myself in two captivating novels by Frieda McFadden, both intriguing and thrilling in their own right. The first, 'The Housemaid,' is a New York Times bestseller that grips you with its intense storyline about secrets lurking behind closed doors. The remarkable twists and turns keep readers on the edge of their seats, while the romance add layers to the plot. As a non-speed reader, I found myself enchanted, unable to put the books down until I reached the final pages. When diving into 'The Housemaid's Secret,' I anticipated the storyline to be less impactful since I was already aware of the main character's secrets. However, the unexpected twists blew me away, showcasing McFadden's talent for storytelling. The romantic elements were perfectly balanced, creating a heartwarming connection between characters that I absolutely loved. This experience reinforced my enjoyment of allegorical narratives and character dynamics in literature. For avid readers and fans of romance thrillers, both books are a must-read. They spark engaging discussions and insights that resonate within communities like #booktok and #lemon8bookworm. If you love books that intertwine suspense, romance, and character depth, I highly recommend these titles. Reading is not just about speed; it's about savoring every moment within the pages.
