Books I’ve finished VS Books TBR

I forgot Twisted Lies in my TBR but that’s the book I’m going to start next anyway to finish off the series.

I’m also just realizing The Guest List should be in the other pile as that is what I plan to read after Twisted Lies. I like to organize what I’m going to be reading next ahead of time🫣

I alternate between romance and mystery bc I get bored of one genre after a while. There is methods to my madness don’t judge me😂😭

Idk what to start after that though. What should I read next?

... Read moreTotally get the struggle of having a massive TBR pile! It’s like a beautiful, overwhelming challenge, right? My own "Books I haven't finished or started" stack often looks like it’s going to tumble over, resting precariously on my gray carpet, making for some classic "pile of books images" moments. The satisfaction of moving a book from that stack to the "BOOKS I'VE READ 100% IN FULL" pile is just unmatched, a true reader's victory! One thing I've found super helpful for tackling my own ever-growing TBR is creating mini-challenges or themed reading months. Instead of just staring at the whole *tall stack of books*, I pick 3-5 books that I'm genuinely excited about for the next month, perhaps one from my romance favorites and another from my mystery wishlist. This makes it feel less daunting. Sometimes, I even create a small dedicated "next up" stack, maybe on a bedside table against a light gray wall, to keep my current focus clear. Do you ever organize your reads that way? It really helps me visualize my progress and keeps me accountable without feeling overwhelmed. Another trick is to dedicate specific reading times – even just 30 minutes before bed – to chip away at that pile. Your method of alternating between romance and mystery sounds brilliant! I do something similar, but I often rotate through three genres to keep things spicy – usually a contemporary, a fantasy, and then a thriller or historical fiction. It prevents me from getting into a reading slump with any single type of story. If I'm feeling emotionally drained after a really intense mystery, diving into a lighthearted romance is the perfect palate cleanser. It’s all about finding that balance that keeps your reading journey exciting and fresh. This also ensures I'm reading a diverse range of voices and stories, which I really value. Since you're asking for recommendations, I've got a few tips for finding your next obsession! Beyond #booktok and #lemon8bookclub, which are amazing resources, I love checking out Goodreads for personalized suggestions based on my finished reads and my preferred genres. Also, don't underestimate your local bookstore! Browsing the shelves, feeling the books, and even chatting with a bookseller can unearth some real gems you might not find online. If you enjoy authors like those in 'Twisted Lies' (assuming it's a popular dark romance) or 'The Guest List' (a popular mystery), looking up 'read-alikes' for those specific titles can lead you down some fantastic rabbit holes. Sometimes, I just pick a stunning cover from my local bookstore and let fate decide! Don't forget libraries either; they're a treasure trove for discovery and saving money. There's something uniquely comforting about seeing your finished reads and your future adventures stacked up. Those physical "pile of books images" truly tell a story of your reading life. It's a testament to all the worlds you've explored and all the new ones waiting for you. Each book in my "BOOKS I'VE READ 100% IN FULL" pile holds memories, while every book in my "Books I haven't finished or started" stack sparks anticipation. Keep sharing your stacks, and let's keep the book love going! What are some of your all-time favorite genres to alternate between?
