Nang Guak is the goddess of fortune and mercy according to Thai beliefs, with the Buddhist appearance of an ancient Thai woman sitting in a fold, with her left hand placed beside her torso or holding a silver bag, and her right hand raised to the property. It is highly popular sacred among merchants to attract customers.

Origin and Myth

Buddhist mythology: She is believed to have the original name "Supadi," born in a Brahmin trading family, the city of Mahakasapha, on her way to follow his father to trade, and to have the opportunity to meet two monks, Mahakaspa and Phra Phra.

The Blessing of Riches: The two Arhats have blessed her and her family to prosper in trade, allowing her to travel anywhere often to make a huge profit, and become wealthy.

How to worship

Sacrifice: Popular offerings of water, red water, green water, fresh flower garland, and sometimes may offer jewelry (such as necklaces, rings) for auspiciousness.

Placement: Often set on a worship ledge at a lower level than the Buddha, facing out the storefront or entrance door.
